Organist or Church Musician

Part-time organist or church musician for the Horne-Thorstrup and Hodde-Tistrup pastorates

A position as organist for the four parishes: Tistrup, Hodde, Thorstrup and Horne (4 churches) is available on 1 November 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The position is on 7 hours per week.

The organist must work in collaboration with our full-time organist. The primary tasks are services and ecclesiastical ceremonies on weekends and holidays. In addition, coverage during holidays, illness and the like.

The four parishes have a total population of 4,558. There are 14 employees in the parishes, including 2 priests. The parishes are characterized by close collaboration regarding employed church singers and organists. Many activities are arranged across the four parishes.

Tistrup Church has an organ from 1969 with seven stops, one manual and pedal, built by Brødrene Bruhn.

Hodde Church ’s organ is a smaller mechanical instrument with five stops and no pedal, built in 1947 by the renowned organ builders Marcussen & Søn.

Thorstrup Church has a small mechanical pipe organ with five stops on one manual and an auxiliary pedal, built in 1953 by Frederiksborg Orgelbyggeri by Troels Krohn.

Horne Church ’s organ was built in 1957 by the renowned firm Marcussen & Søn. In 1993 the instrument was expanded with a further 2 stops by Marcussen & Søn, so that today it contains 10 stops distributed over 2 manuals and pedal.

Employment is with the Tistrup Parish Council, but the four service locations are equally prioritized in planning.

The appointment of an organist with a degree as “Church Musician with Organ and Choir Direction” or an organist with a PO-exam is covered by the Agreement between the Ministry of Towns, Rural and Church and CO10 – Central Organization of 2010.

Organists with a church music master's or bachelor's degree are covered by the protocol to the academic agreement on contractual employment of DOKS organists and permanent teachers at church music schools concluded between Akademikerne and the Ministry of Towns, Rural and Church.

Current civil servant organists have the right to retain their civil servant status when employed with direct transfer. In that case, the position must be classified.

The annual salary for applicants with a church music master's degree (DOKS) is negotiated according to the new pay AC scale. That is a gross annual salary between 360,853,- DKK – 439,707,- DKK (current kroner).

There is a on-call commitment attached to the position. The on-call allowance amounts to annually between 46,428,- DKK – 72,109,- DKK (current kroner). Placement and on-call allowance are awarded according to seniority. In addition, by local agreement, qualification and function allowances may be paid.

The annual salary for applicants with church musician education in organ and choral direction (formerly PO organists) is negotiated according to the agreed basic pay scale. Basic step 1 amounts to 348,201,- DKK annually (current kroner) and basic step 2 to 365,841,- DKK annually (current kroner). Placement is based on seniority.

There is a on-call commitment to the position. The on-call allowance amounts to annually 29,476,- DKK (current kroner) for service at 1 church / 37,699,- DKK (current kroner) for service at 2-3 churches / 44,657,- DKK (current kroner) for service at 4-6 churches / 51,488,- DKK (current kroner) for service at 7 or more churches (select the relevant).

Salary and on-call allowances are prorated in accordance with the position’s appointment fraction.
