Our acute ward has outgrown itself, therefore we are now seeking new nurses for PAM, Psychiatry in Slagelse

In the Psychiatric Emergency Department (PAM) in Slagelse, we have a department where colleagues help each other perform well and have high ambitions to continually improve psychiatric nursing.

We are seeking a nurse for 37 hours, but other arrangements can be made for the right match. Since we are open around the clock, there will be some shifts included in the position. We have a strong focus on creating a work-life balance in PAM.

We are a department with 35 staff, with several teams linked. Our office is characterized by the multidisciplinary “sum” in the corners. In the corridor you will meet a diversity of patients and smiles from colleagues.

You will have two mentors who, together with you and management, will tailor your introduction program according to your experience and competencies.

You will work in both our emergency department function and with our admitted patients. Our target group is patients over 18 years old, in crisis or with acute deterioration of their mental state. Our average length of stay is 1.5 days. Patients in PAM are usually voluntarily admitted. You will become part of our overall safety in the psychiatric hospital through collaboration and alarm runs across departments.

We offer ongoing courses and continuing education to our staff and emphasize bringing new knowledge into our daily work. E.g. psychopathology, triage training, specialized training in psychiatric nursing, and we are working to include acute care training as part of our offering. You have a strong influence on your tasks and the structure of your shifts, which are coordinated with your colleagues.

You will become part of Psychiatry West under Midt- and Vestsjællands Hospital

An organization in development with about 520 employees. In the West there are main functions for adults over 17 years within emergency department, inpatient, and outpatient functions. Psychiatry West additionally has specialized functions for treatment of affective conditions, traumatized refugees, PTSD and oligophrenia. We have a Fusion Clinic/Steno diabetes-psychiatry unit and work especially closely with Holbæk and Slagelse hospitals.

Psychiatry West has its own research unit with a professor in clinical pharmacology and several PhD students. In addition we participate in several projects intended to ensure closer cooperation with our municipalities and police. We work purposefully to reduce the use of coercion, and cooperation with somatics is also important. Our aim is a psychiatry focused on recovery, involvement of patients and networks, high professional standards, ethics and education.

In addition, the goal is to create the best possible learning environments for our various training programs for doctors, nurses, social and health care assistants, etc., as well as to ensure a healthy and safe working environment for patients and staff.

Further information

The position is full-time and in mixed shifts. When employed in a inpatient ward, you should expect weekend work every 2-3 weekends.

Starting salary for agreement employees

The region is obliged to inform you of the starting salary for the position. You will be informed of base pay, centrally fixed allowances and pension in the relevant collective agreement. In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.
