What makes the youngest children feel safe and daring to try something new?

That question we work with every day. When a child has to say goodbye in the morning. When two children catch each other’s eye in play. And when a child tries something for the first time that previously required help.

We are looking for a trained pedagogue who wants to be close to these moments and help develop our nursery.

With us, routines are also pedagogy

In the nursery a large part of our work takes place in the midst of everyday repetitions. A diaper change is also a moment of contact and conversation. A meal provides an opportunity to practice independence and be part of a community. In the cloakroom we must find the balance between helping and giving the child time to try themselves.

We are focused on how we adults create good conditions for the children. How do we distribute ourselves? When should we get closer? And when should we give space?

These are considerations you will become part of as a pedagogue with us.

You should want to explore together with us

We work inspired by NEST and start from the premise that children do well when they can. When a child has difficulty participating, we examine what the child needs and what we can change in our way of organizing everyday life.

Perhaps an activity should take place with fewer children. Perhaps we should make a transition more recognizable. Or perhaps we adults should try a different way to support the child.

We do not expect you to have all the answers. We would like a colleague who notices the children, asks questions, and contributes to us becoming wiser about our practice.

Your professional skills and interests should be felt

Perhaps you are focused on the youngest children's language, on movement, or on how small children start to play together. Perhaps you love music, storytelling, or trips out into nature.

We would like to hear what you are passionate about and how it can fit into the children’s everyday life. You will have influence and the opportunity to shape our pedagogical work together with your colleagues.

Regnbuen has two nursery groups and two kindergarten groups. We go on walks on foot and with our cargo bikes and use both the house, the playground, and the local area as the frame for the children's experiences.

Collaboration is part of the task

As a pedagogue you must be able to be present with the children and share your observations with your colleagues. We need each other’s perspectives when we have to understand why something works, or find another path when it becomes difficult.

Parent collaboration also has an important place. Parents should experience that we are curious about their child, and that we can tell about both the small progress and the things we together need to watch out for.

You may be newly qualified. You may also come with experience and questions about the way we usually do things. The most important thing is that you want to work with the youngest children and want to share in our collective professional responsibility.
