Educator sought for safe outings with a 9-year-old boy in Ølstykke

About the task

You will be a support person for a 9-year-old boy in Ølstykke, who is diagnosed with autism and mild intellectual disability. He is nonverbal but clear in his communication and shows great joy in sensory and physical activities such as the swimming pool, playground and walks. He is a happy and smiling boy who thrives best in calm surroundings – and needs an adult who can offer calm, predictability and a clear framework.

In situations where he becomes overstimulated or frustrated, he needs a secure adult who can help him regain calm. Here it can help to take his hands and count to ten together – a method the family already uses. He also has a stroller with a canopy, which can be used when he needs shielding.

Your task will be to relieve the family with small outings outside the home – e.g. to the library, swimming pool or playground – with a focus on safety, presence and a pace that suits his needs.

About you

You are a trained pedagogue and have experience with children with autism and developmental disability. You are patient, calm and good at decoding nonverbal communication. You work with clarity and structure and can support the child in finding calm in situations where the world becomes too unpredictable. You are also comfortable working independently and take responsibility for the relationship.

Working hours You have one shift per week of 4 hours from 09:30 to 13:30. The shift can be placed on weekdays or on weekends, depending on what suits you best.
