In Department C at Frederiksodde School we are looking for an engaged pedagogue who wants to make a difference for our wonderful children and become part of a multidisciplinary community.

Our children have complex disabilities and significant cognitive and communicative challenges. Several do not have a verbal language or have limited spoken language. They need present adults, clear frameworks and support to develop in their own pace.

Our pedagogical work

AAC, sign language and visual support are important tools in our daily life. We work to ensure that the children have the opportunity to express wishes and needs, be understood and have influence on their own lives.

We work with low arousal, where we meet the children with calm, respect and understanding. We are focused on looking behind the behaviour, preventing conflicts and adapting demands to each child’s prerequisites. At the same time we use structure, predictability and KRAP to support the children’s well-being and development.

Our mission is life skills – to give the children as much autonomy, participation and influence on their own lives.

We are looking for you who

• are a trained pedagogue and wish to work full-time
• are present, patient and curious about each child
• have an interest in AAC, sign language and low arousal. Experience is an advantage, but not a requirement
• can create security and structure and thrive in a multidisciplinary collaboration.

Salary and employment terms

In accordance with the applicable agreement between KL and the negotiating organization.

Upon employment a criminal record will be obtained. Employment is conditional on the criminal record having no remarks of significance for the performance of the specific position.

Child certificate

Upon employment, which involves work with children and young people, a child certificate will be obtained. Employment is conditional on a child certificate without remarks.
