About the job

Some children do not need more rules. They need the right adult.

In Kompetencecenter Vest (KCV) we are seeking a pedagogue who believes that relationships create development. A pedagogue who can stay calm when a child loses overview, and who is curious about what lies behind the behavior. For with us it is rarely the quick solutions that make the biggest difference. It is the adults who keep being there, even when something is difficult.

KCV is a special educational provision for children and young people with, among other things, ADHD, autism and other attention- and development-related challenges.

What is common to our students is that they need clear adults, safe relationships and structures that make sense.

Therefore we are looking for a pedagogue who sees possibilities rather than limitations and who wants to make a difference in children's everyday lives. A meaningful everyday life

As a pedagogue at KCV you will become part of a strong interdisciplinary community, where teachers, pedagogues, guides and coordinators work closely together to create the best conditions for the children's learning, well-being and development.

In the job you will among other things

  • work in a relationship-oriented way with children and young people with special needs
  • support social communities and positive participation opportunities
  • contribute to structure, predictability and safety in everyday life
  • collaborate closely with colleagues, parents and external partners
  • help develop the pedagogical practice at KCV.

HFO is an important part of the task

In KCV we see the HFO as far more than a place between school and home. It is here that many children get the opportunity to practice relationships, develop interests, participate in communities and experience success in ways other than in teaching.

Therefore we are looking for a pedagogue who values after-school pedagogy and wants to create activities and communities where the children experience:

  • joy in being together with others
  • secure relationships with both children and adults
  • co-determination and participation
  • new experiences, interests and success experiences

Who are you?

We imagine that you are trained as a pedagogue and preferably have experience with special education. But more important than experience is your approach to children and collaboration.

You are a person who

  • meets children with respect, curiosity and clarity
  • can stay calm in complex situations
  • works in a structured, but also flexible way
  • contributes positively to the community around you
  • wants to learn, develop and share your knowledge with others.

Therefore choose KCV

With us you don’t just get a job. You become part of a professional community where we help each other, spar with each other and succeed together. We have high ambitions on behalf of the children, but we also know that the best results are created through strong relationships, professional reflection and a good working environment.

We offer

  • engaged and capable colleagues
  • high special educational professionalism
  • opportunity for professional development and sparring
  • a workplace with humor, integrity and community
  • a job that makes a real difference for children and young people every single day.

Does it sound like something for you?

Maybe you are our new colleague if you know that the most important victories are often the small ones. If you can rejoice in a child who dares to participate, creates a new relationship or succeeds at something that was difficult yesterday.
