Pedagogical Practice Consultant

In Horsens Municipality we have a clear political ambition that more students should have better participation opportunities in general education communities through practice-oriented support of the municipality's schools and daycare facilities.

We are seeking in this context two pedagogical practice consultants for the Cross-Functional Learning Unit – one position will be anchored in the daycare area and the other in the school sector. The two colleagues will contribute to capacity building and preventive measures that strengthen the child’s community and the play and learning environment.

As an employee in the Cross-Functional Learning Unit you will be part of our overall support system, working closely with day-to-day pedagogical practice. We aim to be available and practice-relevant in collaboration with the pedagogical staff on the children's learning, development and well-being. It requires a shared and interdisciplinary approach and not least employees who can translate knowledge into concrete action together with those who have the task in daily life.

About the job

You will become a fixed partner for selected schools or daycare facilities, where you contribute with both your professional and practical experiences. Your task-solving is done close to the children and together with teachers, pedagogues, supervisors and leaders with a basis in the resources that already exist. A substantial part of the task consists of connecting data, observations and analyses with concrete pedagogical and didactic approaches that make sense in the local context.

You contribute with sparring, observations and co-created pedagogical interventions, where you themselves stand in front of or beside colleagues.

You will also be part of a community across professions. Together with psychologists, speech therapists, child physiotherapists and consultants you work to qualify and implement practice-relevant interventions. You must be able to act independently, but also have a coordinating eye when you take on tasks with your interdisciplinary colleagues.

About you

We see that you are a skilled practitioner who has gained experience in building and developing pedagogical capacity – perhaps through a role as supervisor, consultant or other. You have the ability to create relations, direction and process in collaboration with staff and leadership. You can handle different interests and know yourself well enough to know how you react in interaction with others – even when the task or the relationships challenge.

You are flexible, can shift positions in the collaboration and have the courage to be the adaptive disturbance when the task calls for it. Finally, you want to influence our shared workplace and participate in development in a politically-led organization.

The school-area position

We expect you to be trained as a teacher with broad pedagogical/didactic experience from the school sector, preferably supplemented with a relevant academic qualification.

The daycare-area position

We expect that you have a basic pedagogical education, preferably supplemented with relevant continuing education. Alternatively, that you have a relevant academic degree, supplemented with pedagogical experience and insight into the daycare area.

About us

The Cross-Functional Learning Unit is a department under Children & Prevention in Horsens Municipality. We are based at the Town Hall, but most of our working days are spent at the municipality's schools and daycare facilities. We have a close collaboration with the municipality's Knowledge Center, and together we form the close support system that supports schools and daycare facilities when they need sparring, new perspectives or support for pedagogical practice.

The two vacant positions are 37 hours per week with expected start January 1, 2027. Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.

The concrete salary depends on the position as well as your experience and qualifications and may, in addition to base pay, consist of relevant, negotiated allowances.
