About the job

We are seeking 1 childcare assistant who wants to be part of daily life at Langenæsstien 6B. The position is 37 hours and it is a permanent position.

The assistant role is a mix between practical tasks and social interaction/play with the children.

Your profile

We have no expectations that you have experience from previous employments; the most important is that you want to contribute and take responsibility in the daily work with the children. You must be able to take initiative on your own, keep an overview in pressured situations, “move quickly slowly,” and most importantly have a desire to play and be present with children aged 0-6 years.

The assistant job also involves a fair amount of practical work, so you must also be able to handle both food/tasks and cleaning tasks.

Parent collaboration is a big part of the work in the nursery, and the daily dialogue with parents at drop-off and pick-up will also be part of the job.

We have an expectation that you can initiate and immerse yourself in play with the children, that you can both “see” the individual child but at the same time have an eye for the whole group. You should be enthusiastic about dancing, jumping, crawling, singing, etc. with the children both indoors and outdoors, and you should be able to take the initiative yourself.

We are part of Langenæs day care which consists of 7 departments. In the nursery (vuggestuen) we are normed for 26 children distributed over 2 rooms, and 50 children in the kindergarten distributed over 3 groups. We are a mixed staff of younger, experienced and inexperienced personnel, of which you will become part.

We love nature and outdoor life, so you should be prepared to be outside most of the day, summer and winter. We enjoy giving children first-hand experiences with nature and working with and continuously developing our play environments – we look forward to you becoming part of this.

We work in a structured way based on our activity plan which takes its starting point in our Year Wheel (Årshjul), reflecting the year's course.

Salary and terms of employment

The position is permanent assistant positions with an average weekly working time of 37 hours.

You must be able to start on 10.11.2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Interviews are held on an ongoing basis.

Salary and terms of employment will be in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. Final wage determination occurs after negotiation with the legally entitled trade union based on qualifications, unless the position is covered by a pre-agreement that can form the basis for wage setting
