At Milk Way Daycare, we have big ambitions to strengthen and develop the good work that is already being carried out in our large, beautiful institution. We shall do more of what works, apply good experiences and results that already exist in our daily work with the core task, and at the same time focus on how we can further develop and strengthen the quality of our interventions.

The basic idea in our structure is to focus on the children's development stages and relationships. We therefore have a good and well-considered connection between the Planets (departments), where at transitions the focus is on each child’s development stage and social relationships.

The pedagogical leader's task is to create the best possible conditions for the pedagogical work with the children through clear goals and frameworks, the organization of the work, inclusive processes and professional sparring with the staff – while you collaborate to develop Kerteminde Municipality's vision for the Children, Family and Daycare Department "Strong Local Communities".

In addition, we are a flexible and dynamic organization built on trust, responsibility and independence. From a neuroaffective perspective, we work with an inclusive everyday practice that supports well-being and learning.

About the job

As a pedagogical leader you will join a leadership team where close collaboration is a prerequisite for succeeding with the task. The team consists of three pedagogical leaders. In daily work you will report to the district manager.

We are currently seeking a position as pedagogical leader for Yellow Planet (5-6 years) and the bus daycare Karlsvognen (3-4 years)

For the position, the following applies

• Daily management of your departments
• Work strategically with the management group to develop pedagogical quality in daily practice
• Create structure, maintain overview and keep calm
• Create a common direction and unite the staff around the core task
• Be brave to throw balls in the air and catch them again, in close collaboration with staff and leadership colleagues.
• Provide pedagogical sparring and prioritize discussions about pedagogy in daily practice.

Expectations for personal, professional and leadership qualifications

• We expect you to have the following educational and professional qualifications:
• Qualified educator, preferably with leadership experience from a similar position
• You have a diploma in leadership or are ready to begin a leadership education
• Knowledge of neuroaffective developmental psychology and neuroaffective pedagogy
• You have knowledge about inclusive learning environments
• You are familiar with working with “The Strengthened Pedagogical Curriculum”

• You have a creative and developmental approach to children's learning environment

Timeline

Application deadline is October 22, 2026.

The first round of interviews will take place on October 26, 2026, where the hiring committee decides whether a possible second round of interviews is needed.

The second round of interviews will be held on October 29, 2026 if applicable. Expected start date is December 1, 2026

Salary and employment terms

Employment is in accordance with the applicable collective agreement for leaders concluded between KL and BUPL. The position is classified as Pedagogical Leader at 37 hours.

Expected salary range: 45,321 - 47,234 per month excluding employer-paid pension, flex benefit and holiday allowance. In addition, there may be locally agreed allowances, qualification, function and seniority allowances.

The final salary settlement is based on your qualifications and previous work experience after a concrete negotiation with the trade union.
