About the job
We are looking for two skilled and engaged colleagues for the 24/7 residential care facility Lindekollegiet
Are you educated as a pedagogue , or do you have another social- or health-related education ? Do you want to become part of an exciting house with wonderful residents, where not two days are the same? And do you want to be a part of a skilled staff team , that works together, laughs with each other and makes each other better? Then it could be you , we are looking for.
Lindekollegiet is part of the Bo- og Støttecenter Herning, which consists of a wide range of services in Herning Municipality. The services include among other things residential care with and without 24/7 coverage, temporary residential care with coaching, home support, and café services.
Lindekollegiet is a temporary residential coaching facility located in the middle of Herning for up to 17 young adults aged 17-39. Our residents are in the midst of youth and all work on developing various skills with a view to achieving as independent adult life as possible. The target group is young adults with developmental disabilities to a mild/moderate degree. In addition, residents may have autism spectrum disorder, attention disorders and/or mental health challenges.
We also have four places for residents with autism spectrum disorder and often various comorbidities. A common factor for the residents is that they need clarification regarding future housing arrangements based on each individual's wishes, hopes and dreams.
The employees' primary task is to support, guide and motivate the young people to develop skills to live as independent a life as possible. Residents are offered daily support and guidance to maintain daily rhythm and structure. Many of the residents have cognitive difficulties with motivation, planning, execution and problem-solving in daily tasks. We also support residents in maintaining an active leisure life and in maintaining or building networks with friends, partners, relatives, etc.
Most residents attend STU or a employment type arrangement on a daily basis. We cooperate with the residents' relatives to the extent the individual resident wishes. We work based on neuropedagogical principles, where KRAP is the fundamental method, and we also use LA2 in our work with residents.
We are talking about a 24/7 residential facility, where shifts change around the clock and all year round. We have employees hired for awake night shifts, so night shifts are therefore not part of your schedule. There will be work on holidays as well as weekend work every 2nd or every 3rd weekend. Usually there are 2-3 staff working at a time, so you always have professionally skilled colleagues to brainstorm with.
The positions are generally 37 hours per week, but there is the possibility of fewer hours if desired.
We offer
- A meaningful job where you make a difference for young adults in their everyday life and development.
- Opportunity to become part of an experienced, humorous and competent interdisciplinary staff group with both pedagogical and health-related qualified personnel.
- Buddying with accompanying shifts and close support from professionally competent and engaged colleagues.
- An exciting pedagogical workplace with varying and sometimes complex tasks.
- A professional environment where the approach is neuropedagogical, and where KRAP is the primary method. We also use LA2. If you are not already trained in these approaches and methods, we offer relevant training.
- Cooperation with engaged colleagues and residents who want togetherness.
- Residents who want staff around them and who may enjoy walks, shopping, campfire warmth, games, LEGO or TV in the living room.
- An work environment with room for smiles, laughter, mistakes, learning and collegial community.
We wish that our new colleague
- Is educated as a pedagogue or has another social- or health-related education – very preferably with experience in autism and/or developmental disability.
- Can work independently, take responsibility and meet residents and colleagues with a smile.
- Has knowledge of the neuropedagogical approach and KRAP – this would be an advantage.
- Is strong in documenting the pedagogical work and has good IT skills. Knowledge of Cura Social and Cura Omsorg would be an advantage.
- Will contribute positively to the good collaboration with colleagues and relatives.
- Is loyal to both colleagues and tasks and can reflect on own and colleagues' practices.
- Is flexible and will contribute to a good work environment and good collegial cooperation.
- Is outgoing, proactive, adaptable, good-humored and decisive.
