About the job

Physiotherapist for Lotus – bring your professional expertise into a house with many different lives

How do you create a desire for movement in a person whose life, habits and experiences are different from your own? At Lotus, that question is part of an exciting professional daily life.

We are seeking a physiotherapist who wants to use their professional knowledge to strengthen the residents’ opportunities to live the life that matters to them. And who is motivated to help develop a nursing home where diversity, curiosity and community set the direction.

A home that accommodates difference

Lotus is a nursing home in Aarhus West with 48 residences. Here, people with different life histories, cultures, languages, traditions and daily desires meet. We are focused on how each individual can feel homeliness, self-determination and belonging – while also being part of a community.

We are now actively strengthening Lotus’ profile as a diversity nursing home with a special focus on the multicultural. It is about being open to different understandings of health, illness, old age and family life, and letting that knowledge inform our work.

As our upcoming physiotherapist, you will become part of this development. You should want to explore what motivates each person and tailor your approach in dialogue with the resident, relatives and colleagues.

Please note that the position falls within the 24/7 area. At present, the service is expected to be primarily day shifts.

Candidate profile

You are a licensed physiotherapist and have an interest in the functional ability, movement and life quality of older people. You can work independently, prioritise your tasks and bring your professional assessments into interdisciplinary collaboration.

We are looking for someone who

  • Takes the individual’s wishes, resources and motivation as a starting point.
  • Finds diversity and the multicultural area exciting and wants to contribute to developing our profile.
  • Encounters residents, relatives and colleagues with respect, openness and curiosity.
  • Adapts your communication and approach to people with different prerequisites and life experiences.
  • Shares your knowledge and makes it usable for colleagues in daily work.
  • Takes initiative and follows your efforts through in collaboration with others.
  • Has an eye for residents’ needs and naturally steps in across professional boundaries when everyday life calls for a helping hand.
  • We value your ability to ask, listen and find solutions together with the person you are facing.

The position includes, among other things, the following tasks

  • Physiotherapeutic examinations and assessments of functional ability, training needs and potential.
  • Planning, execution and follow-up on rehabilitation and maintenance training.
  • Physiotherapeutic input at moving in and upon changes in residents’ functional ability.
  • Assessment of transfers and need for assistive devices and guidance in their use.
  • Advice and professional sparring with colleagues on movement, mobility and rehabilitation in everyday life.
  • Participation in resident conferences and coordination of interdisciplinary efforts.
  • Collaboration with residents and relatives about meaningful goals.
  • Documentation and ongoing evaluation of the physiotherapeutic interventions.

Why you should choose us

At Lotus you get the opportunity to apply your professional skills and help shape a nursing home in development. We want our focus on diversity to be felt in everyday life – in relationships, activities and the professional solutions we create together.

With us you get

  • An independent area of responsibility with the opportunity to influence the physiotherapeutic effort.
  • A close interdisciplinary collaboration where your perspective matters for residents’ everyday lives.
  • A professional network in the district with opportunities for sparring and exchange of experiences.
  • Possibility to contribute to the development of Lotus as a diversity nursing home.
  • An employer with a clear direction and room for professional initiative and new ideas.
  • A collegial community where we value helpfulness, humor and learning from each other.

We look forward to hearing what interests you as a physiotherapist and why you want to become part of Lotus.
