About the job

Do you want to use your physiotherapy professional expertise to create strong rehabilitation pathways? Do you thrive in complex pathways and strong interdisciplinary collaboration? And would you like to help shape a new regional offer in Citizen-Centered Health? Then you are the person we are looking for.

We are seeking a dedicated and professionally strong physiotherapist for the new health and care places under Citizen-Centered Health at Esbjerg and Grindsted Hospital. Here you get a unique opportunity to leave your professional mark on the physiotherapeutic effort and to help create the future citizen-centered rehabilitation in collaboration with other professions.

A job where your physiotherapeutic input makes a difference In the health and care places you meet citizens who need a health professional input that does not require hospital admission, but that is also not appropriately managed in their own home. This can include, among others, older citizens and citizens with multiple concurrent illnesses, acute deterioration of known disease or reduced functional ability after a hospital stay.

You will have a daily life where you will work independently and at the same time be part of a multidisciplinary team.

You will among other things

  • examine and assess citizens' physical functional capacity and need for rehabilitation
  • plan, implement and evaluate physiotherapeutic interventions
  • work purposefully with mobilization, walking function, transfers, balance and physical activity in daily activities
  • support citizens' possibilities to maintain or regain functional ability and return to their own home or an appropriate housing form
  • assess need for aids and provide guidance on safe use
  • collaborate with care staff to integrate activity and rehabilitation into today’s routines and care situations
  • contribute to common goals and plans together with the citizen, relatives and relevant professions
  • contribute to coordination and good transitions between the health- and care places, the hospital, the municipality and the citizen’s home
  • contribute to development of professional practice, workflows and quality in the new offering

Be part of building something new As a consequence of the Health Reform, from January 1, 2027, the regions will take responsibility for the health- and care places. At Esbjerg and Grindsted Hospital the new clinical department is under development: Citizen-Centered Health. The aim is to create a more local, coherent and equal health system, where citizens experience continuity in their pathways, and where the right competencies are in place at the right time.

Esbjerg and Grindsted Hospital will establish 40 beds in Esbjerg Municipality, of which 30 beds in Esbjerg and 10 in Bramming. Here nurses, doctors, physiotherapists and occupational therapists, as well as social and health care assistants work closely together.

You will have the opportunity to help develop both the physiotherapeutic effort and the shared workflows. Our common goal is to help the citizen return to their own life with dignity, efficient pathways and high professional standards – with the citizen as an active participant.

We ensure you are not alone We know it takes something to start something new. Therefore we offer:

  • thorough introduction and onboarding to tasks and workflows
  • ongoing competency development and opportunities for professional and personal development
  • influence on the development of the physiotherapeutic effort and the new department
  • a strong multidisciplinary community with engaged colleagues, high professional standards and a focus on collaboration
  • a workplace with a focus on dialogue, involvement, well-being and a good working environment
  • a meaningful workplace where you contribute to better and more coherent citizen pathways

Who are you? We are looking for a physiotherapist who

  • has broad physiotherapeutic experience and preferably experience with rehabilitation of citizens with complex or medical issues
  • has strong clinical assessment skills and can translate observations into relevant actions
  • works purposefully and rehabilitatively with a focus on the citizen’s resources, wishes and daily life
  • can work autonomously, prioritize tasks and adapt the intervention to the citizen’s changing needs
  • communicates clearly and respectfully and can create trust and security for citizens and relatives
  • actively contributes to the multidisciplinary collaboration and shares physiotherapeutic knowledge with colleagues
  • is curious, learning and wants to develop professional practice and workflows
  • takes co-responsibility for a good collegial community and a safe working environment

You do not need to know everything from day one. The most important thing is that you want to use your professional skills, take responsibility and help create a new offering with us.

Terms of employment The position is 37 hours per week with start date 1 January 2027. Working hours will include day shifts on weekends.

Salary and employment terms follow the collective agreement between Danish Physiotherapists and Danish Regions. The region is obliged to inform you of the starting salary for the position. You will be informed of base salary, centrally fixed allowances and pension in Agreement for Non-Executive Staff in the Health Cartel area 32.17.1 - salary as of 1-4-2026 . In addition to the starting salary, the salary may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.
