About the job

Would you like to use your physiotherapeutic expertise to create strong rehabilitation pathways? Do you thrive with complex pathways and strong interdisciplinary collaboration? And would you like to help shape a new regional offering in Borgernær Sundhed? Then you are the one we are looking for.

We are seeking an engaged and professionally strong physiotherapist for the new health and care placements under Borgernær Sundhed at Esbjerg and Grindsted Hospital. Here you get a unique opportunity to make your professional mark on the physiotherapeutic efforts, and to help shape the future citizen-centered rehabilitation in collaboration with other professions.

A job where your physiotherapeutic contribution makes a difference At the health and care placements you will meet citizens who need a health professional intervention that does not require hospital admission, but that also cannot be adequately handled in their own home. This can include, among others, elderly citizens and citizens with multiple concurrent conditions, acute deterioration of known diseases or reduced function after a hospital stay.

You will have a daily life where you work independently while also being part of a multidisciplinary team.

You will, among other things, come to

  • examine and assess citizens’ physical functional ability and rehabilitation needs
  • plan, implement and evaluate physiotherapeutic interventions
  • work purposefully on mobilization, gait function, transfers, balance and physical activity in daily activities
  • support citizens’ opportunities to maintain or regain function and return to their own home or a suitable housing form
  • assess the need for aids and provide guidance on safe usage
  • collaborate with nursing staff to integrate activity and rehabilitation into daily routines and care situations
  • contribute to shared goals and plans together with the citizen, relatives and relevant professional groups
  • contribute to coordination and smooth transitions between the health- and care placements, the hospital, the municipality and the citizen’s home
  • contribute to the development of professional practice, workflows and quality in the new offering

Be part of building something new As a consequence of the Health Reform, the regions will from 1 January 2027 take responsibility for health and care placements. At Esbjerg and Grindsted Hospital the new clinical department Borgernær Sundhed is under construction. The ambition is to create a more approachable, coherent and equal health system, where citizens experience coherence in their pathways, and where the right competencies are in place at the right time.

Esbjerg and Grindsted Hospital establish 21 placements in Vejen Municipality, of which 11 placements in Vejen and 10 in Brørup. Here nurses, doctors, physiotherapists and occupational therapists as well as social and health care assistants work closely together.

You will have the opportunity to help develop both the physiotherapeutic efforts and the shared workflows. Our common goal is to help the citizen return to their own life with dignity, efficient pathways and high professionalism – with the citizen as an active participant.

We ensure you are not alone

We know that starting something new takes effort. Therefore we offer

  • thorough introduction and onboarding to tasks and workflows
  • continuous competence development and opportunities for professional and personal growth
  • influence on the development of the physiotherapeutic effort and the new department
  • a strong multidisciplinary community with engaged colleagues, high professionalism and a focus on collaboration
  • a workplace focused on dialogue, inclusion, well-being and a good working environment
  • a meaningful workplace where you contribute to better and more coherent citizen pathways

Who are you?

We are looking for a physiotherapist who

  • has broad physiotherapy experience and preferably experience with rehabilitation of citizens with complex or medical issues
  • has strong clinical assessment skills and can translate observations into relevant actions
  • works purposefully and rehabilitatively with a focus on the citizen’s resources, wishes and everyday life
  • can work independently, prioritize tasks and adapt the intervention to the citizen’s changing needs
  • communicates clearly and respectfully and can create trust and security for citizens and relatives
  • actively contributes to the multidisciplinary collaboration and shares their physiotherapy knowledge with colleagues
  • is curious, learning-oriented and keen to develop professional practice and workflows
  • takes co-responsibility for a good collegial community and a safe working environment

You do not need to know it all from day one. The most important is that you want to use your professional skills, take responsibility and help create a new offering together with us.

Terms of employment The position is 37 hours per week with start 1 January 2027. Working hours will include day shifts on weekends.

Salary and terms of employment follow the collective agreement between Danish Physiotherapists and Danish Regions. The region is obliged to inform you of the starting salary for the position. You will be told base salary, centrally fixed allowances and pension in Agreement for Non-Management staff in the Health Cartel area 32.17.1 - salary as of 1.4.2026 . In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.
