About the job

Do you want to set the direction for professionalism, togetherness and development?

Then you may be our new care home manager at Bakkebo in Holstebro Municipality.

Your role and your tasks

Bakkebo is a care center with 47 places, distributed across 42 residential care units and 5 temporary living spaces. Here you will meet skilled and engaged staff with a focus on the core task. Of the residential care units, 10 places are special dementia units.

A central management task will be to lead the development of the dementia effort, particularly around the dementia units in Havehuset which will begin a renovation at the start of 2027. In addition, we are preparing for further development of holistic care at the nursing homes in Holstebro Municipality.

As a care home manager you have independent management responsibility for daily operations and you will at the same time become part of a strong management community in the Center for Nursing Homes and Daycare.

To strengthen the daily leadership at Bakkebo, we have decided to establish a supporting leadership function, which shall supplement your leadership task and contribute to a strong and present leadership in everyday life. We will initiate the work to establish the function after your commencement. You will also be supported by a duty planner, an administrative employee and our staff functions.

As a care home manager you will among other things

  • create clear direction, followership and strong working communities.
  • ensure stable operations with a view to quality, economy and development
  • work strategically with recruitment, employee development and retention
  • actively contribute to the leadership community and the joint development across the nursing homes.

We are therefore looking for a leader who believes in relational leadership, and who

  • follows up on decisions and creates frameworks for a strong working community with shared responsibility for residents’ well-being
  • develops workflows with a basis in the core task
  • brings employees’ professionalism into play, and creates a desire to contribute and stay.
  • shares knowledge, seeks sparring and takes co-responsibility for common solutions. decisions and development across the nursing homes.

In addition we want you to

  • have a health-professional education at bachelor level, preferably supplemented with a leadership education
  • have a present and appreciative leadership style and can balance consideration for the individual with the organization’s needs.

We place great emphasis on your personal and relational competences. You do not need to have all the answers, but you must have the courage to be curious and create solutions together with others.

We offer a leadership community with room for sparring

You are not alone in your new leadership role. You become part of a leadership community where we share experiences, challenge each other’s perspectives and find solutions together. Here there is room for both sparring, support and shared responsibility.

HR accompanies you in your start with an onboarding conversation and the opportunity for subsequent leadership sparring and/or leadership coaching - depending on your needs. Just as you become part of cross-cutting leadership networks and development programs with other leadership colleagues.

We would like to hear your reflections

We are curious about how you think leadership works in practice. Therefore we ask you to address the following questions in your application:

You experience that some of the nursing home’s workflows have evolved over time and are not necessarily the best way to solve the tasks anymore.

How would you as a care home manager identify undesirable workflows, involve the staff and ensure that necessary changes are translated into practice?

There is no single right answer. We are interested in your reflections and your approach to the leadership dilemmas you may encounter in the job.
