Do you want to be the assistant nursing home manager who shapes the healthcare direction at Marienlund Nursing Home?

We are currently facing a generational shift in leadership. After 30 years at Marienlund, our assistant head of the care home is retiring. Therefore we are seeking a new leadership colleague who will help put their own mark on an already strong foundation.

The health care tasks are still taking up more and more space, so this time we are looking for an assistant head of the care home who is a trained nurse and can set a clear health care direction in daily practice.

Relationships and Tyrolean party

In the Municipality of Odense we work according to the guideline that nursing homes should be a breeding ground for communities. We believe we succeed in this at Marienlund. In fact, our residents tell us that they miss the staff when they are on vacation. We take that as a compliment, because it tells us that the relationships here are strong and that the residents feel safe.

The Marienlund care home forms the framework for the daily life of 54 residents and also houses a day center, which is visited weekly by around 110 residents. Here there is room for gymnastics, visiting dogs, bingo and a Tyrolean party. We have just celebrated our 50th anniversary, and at the same time we could celebrate a staff member who has been here for 48 years. That says something about the culture you will become part of as a leader with us – you actually feel like staying a little longer.

Your role at Marienlund

We are looking for a licensed nurse with leadership experience who can create professional direction for our 64 employees, support their development and ensure high quality in the residents’ daily life. You must be able to see yourself in a house where we follow residents and their relatives through long processes, and where daily life is part of the core task. In a large house like Marienlund there are many different tasks. Yours will include scheduling and absence conversations.

You will work broadly with both the head of the care home, authorities, staff and relatives, and be a sparring partner in professional and personnel matters. We also actively work with organizational membership, so you must be able to see yourself in these values.

It is also a clear advantage if you approach new tasks with an open mind and have a flair for IT, as documentation and quality assurance constitute a significant part of the position. Therefore we expect that you as assistant head of the care home contribute to a culture characterized by dialogue and trust, and that you help to address challenges early.

Salary and employment terms

Salary and employment terms in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between KL and the negotiating organization. The expected salary level will be announced prior to any interview.

Marienlund is a 24-hour facility and our staff are at work from 7-23, so it is expected that there is some availability in evenings and weekends - a task we share in the leadership team. You will work as assistant head of the care home with no set upper limit on working time.

Practical information

Start date January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter. Application deadline is November 15, and we expect to conduct first interview on November 19 and second interview on November 25.

Candidates invited to the second interview will be asked to complete a personality profile analysis between the two interviews.
