About the job

Do you want to make a difference when the day winds down?

Are you a social and healthcare assistant or a social and healthcare aide, and do you like having an impact on other peoples lives?

Do you thrive in a workplace where professionalism, collaboration, presence and humor go hand in hand?

Then it might be you we are looking for for a permanent evening shift at Birker4dkpark Care Home.

With us, the evening shift isnt just about solving tasks. It is about creating presence, safety and the small moments that make a difference for our residents. And about being part of a work community where we help each other, share our professional knowledge and also have room to laugh together – and sometimes at ourselves.

Our core task

At Birker4dkpark we work with a clear common direction

The core task at Birker4dkpark Nursing Home is to support our residents in living a meaningful, safe and dignified everyday life – with the greatest possible degree of self-determination, participation and quality of life. We do this through professional care, skilled nursing and a strong collaboration between staff, residents and relatives.

That means that we see the whole person and work based on the individual residents wishes, habits, resources and needs. It is the residents home – and it must be felt in the way we work.

What is it like to be an evening shift at our place?

You will be attached to a fixed ward and a fixed team, where relationships matter – both professionally and personally.

On a typical evening there are usually three staff on the ward. At the same time we have a responsible social- and healthcare assistant across the building who supports professionalism and coordination and works closely with the wards and district nursing.

We help each other across the organization when needed, but you also have your fixed base and your fixed colleagues.

Our shared goal is that residents feel seen, heard and safe – even when the day winds down.

Your tasks

Your concrete tasks obviously depend on whether you are trained as a social- and healthcare assistant or a social- and healthcare helper, and are based on your area of competence.

Common to the work is that you, among other things, shall

  • provide personal care and nursing with respect for the fact that it is the residentsf home
  • work rehabilitatively and support residents independence and quality of life
  • observe changes in residents condition and respond professionally to them
  • document relevant and professional notes in the care journal
  • contribute to triaging, coordination and professional sparring on the ward
  • collaborate closely with colleagues, the on-call SSA, nurses, therapists, district nursing and relatives
  • contribute to safety, presence and activity in the evening hours
  • help to create a good work community and a positive culture.

As a social- and healthcare assistant we also expect you to independently handle nursing tasks within your competence area – both planned and acute – and actively contribute to the professional overview and coordination on your own ward.

Professional development – also when you work in the evening

We believe that professional development should be for all employees – regardless of which shift you work.

Therefore we especially prioritize professional development for our evening and night shift workers. Every month we hold a professional afternoon for our evening staff, where we focus on current and relevant professional topics from everyday life. The purpose is to strengthen professionalism, create room for reflection and sparring and better prepare our evening staff for the care and support of our residents, who often have complex and composite needs.

In addition we invite our evening and night shift workers to two days of targeted training twice a year, where there is an opportunity to delve deeper into selected professional areas, strengthen competencies and share experiences across the building.

We believe that high professionalism creates safety – both for our residents and for the staff. Therefore, there must be room for asking questions, sharing knowledge, reflecting together and becoming more capable throughout the course of work life.

What do you get with us?

We offer you

  • a work community where everyone has value – regardless of title
  • fixed colleagues and a fixed ward
  • colleagues with a good sense of humor and room for diversity
  • a present leadership that wants to hear your ideas
  • a good and safe introduction – we do not expect you to know it all from the first shift
  • ongoing opportunities for professional development and sparring
  • training targeted at evening and night shifts
  • the opportunity to influence the development of our practice
  • a house with life, where activities also have a place after 3 PM
  • an activity staff member who, among other things, supports activities in the late afternoon hours
  • a culture where we value respect, humor, professionalism and integrity.

Who do we hope you are?

First and foremost you are educated as a social- and healthcare assistant or social- and healthcare helper.

Furthermore we hope that you

  • meet residents with care, respect and curiosity
  • can work independently and at the same time see the value in being part of a team
  • are good at collaborating and share your observations and your professional knowledge
  • can create calm and maintain an overview, even when pace increases
  • communicate in an appreciative way with residents, relatives and colleagues
  • are curious about professional development
  • contribute positively to the work community
  • and not least become happy when our residents are happy.
