About the job

Are you organized and structured? Do you want to be at the frontline protecting Denmark from external threats? And are you ready for a workday that never becomes ordinary? Then you might be our new SIT Chief in the PET-SIOC (Situations and Operations Center).

Become operational leader of the work in PET’s Situations and Operations Center

As one of several SIT chiefs, your overarching task is to be responsible for management and coordination in the operational area via a number of skilled specialists. You will gain broad insight into PET’s work and the complex collaboration that takes place across the entire organization.

The SIT chief is responsible for maintaining a situation picture so that PET at any given moment – quickly and with qualification – can analyze, assess and act on new intelligence and security incidents. You will be responsible for screening new information and aligning it with PET’s overall intelligence. Moreover, it will be your responsibility that the right measures are initiated when necessary.

In the event of an unscheduled incident it is thus SIT chief’s responsibility to initiate a first response and activate PET’s crisis management organization. You will have a great responsibility for PET to act proactively, timely and effectively around the clock.

SIOC is open 24/7 year-round, so you as SIT chief should expect to be part of a duty rota.

Experience a daily life that never becomes ordinary

As SIT chief in PET you will become part of a daily life characterized by tasks that do not exist elsewhere, and each day presents new challenges that did not exist yesterday.

We solve the task by being proactive and prepared when it comes to threats. Therefore, we continuously monitor and assess potential threats. In the office and in the field. Here at home and in the rest of the world. Although our work is shaped by the seriousness of the higher purpose, the tone is informal, and you will experience a unique camaraderie across departments and disciplines, where we move together when it matters. We have a daily life that never becomes ordinary, and you can have that too.

You are appointed police inspector with broad experience.

As SIT chief there is a requirement that you are appointed police inspector and currently serving.

In addition, we expect that you

  • Have both operational and investigative experience
  • Have a solid moral compass and sound judgment
  • Have a strong interest in keeping up to date on hotspots around the world, as global conflicts can also have decisive implications for the Kingdom’s security
  • Are good at collaborating and motivated by the collective task and the higher purpose
  • Can communicate clearly and transparently – also when things need to move quickly
  • It is also important that you welcome the digital world and are motivated to familiarize yourself with new digital solutions.

As a leader you can quickly grasp new conditions and make well-considered decisions in practice. You have experience in creating an overview and in evaluating, deciding and deploying situation-appropriate actions in a complex and rapidly changing organization. You are able to lead subject matter experts and have the managerial resilience to set direction in a politically guided organization.

Additionally, PET places high importance on certain personal competencies. These are competencies that we believe are essential for all PET employees regardless of professional background. We do this because it is important to us to find the right match. You can read about the competencies here www.PET.dk/job.
