PPR Roskilde seeks a speech therapist for the School Team

Speech-Language Therapist for PPR Roskilde - primarily for tasks in the special education area The tasks will initially primarily be on our special schools Lysholm (for children with multiple disabilities) and Hedevang (for children with autism and ADHD), so experience with – and not least an interest in – the specialized area is a must! There will also be tasks at general elementary schools and/or private schools.

PPR Roskilde is a multidisciplinary organization with about 80 employees. We are organised into a 0-6 year team and a school team, which consist of multidisciplinary groups of staff (speech-language therapists, psychologists, special education advisors and consultants). The entire speech-language pathology team consists of 16 speech-language therapists and a reading-spelling consultant.

The position will, as a team, be placed in the school team, and as a new colleague you will be professionally anchored in the speech-language pathology school team and will also have sparring with other speech-language therapists who handle tasks in the special area. Here the themes are support for communication and language development in children with various types of functional impairments and developmental disorders and the adults around them, among others through augmentative and alternative communication/AAC.

In addition, we hold regular meetings in the two multidisciplinary teams, in the combined professional group, and joint meetings for the entire PPR.

We are a professional group with diverse interests within the speech-language pathology subspecialties. We have organized ourselves so that some areas are specialized and handled by a few experienced hands (e.g., hearing loss and stuttering) and others are handled by the whole group (e.g., phonological difficulties and DLD). We have a strong professional community where there is always sparring and specialized knowledge to draw on.

Through the team structure and daily collaboration you will have many points of contact with skilled multidisciplinary colleagues from PPR and the professional partners from the practice field.

As a new employee you can expect an introduction program to the organization and your tasks. You will be assigned a mentor from the speech-language pathology group, and there is an opportunity for sparring with the head of the speech-language pathology department.

It is a prerequisite for thriving in the job that you enjoy working independently, as it is a job where you often work on your own. At the same time you should be willing to share your professional knowledge - both your strengths and weaknesses - with your colleagues and have a curious and explorative approach to the work and the professional community. The work requires a structured approach, the ability to prioritise, and good collaboration and communication skills with both parents and professionals as well as colleagues.
