About the job
Are you a student in audiology and speech-language pathology or speech-language pathology, and would you like to translate your professional knowledge into practice and make a difference for schoolchildren with language difficulties?
In Dragør Municipality we are looking for an engaged student assistant who is pursuing a master's degree in audiology or speech-language pathology, and who wants to become part of our PPR.
You will be attached to our speech-language pathologist and will primarily work with schoolchildren who need support for their language development and communication. We are particularly interested in you who have knowledge of or wish to immerse yourself in DLD (Developmental Language Disorder) and the language difficulties that can affect children’s learning, participation and well-being at school.
You will become part of an interdisciplinary team with psychologists, speech-language pathologist, physiotherapist, inclusion consultants and support teachers. We work closely with the schools to create opportunities for all children to participate through practical and preventive initiatives. The position is 12-15 hours per week with start on January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter. Working hours will be arranged as flexibly as possible, taking your studies into account.
Your tasks
You will become part of the logopedic work in PPR and will among other things work with
- Planning and conducting linguistic training and teaching programs for schoolchildren.
- Carrying out testing of children and preparing linguistic assessments.
- Participating in open counseling/resource team meetings at the schools.
- Preparation of linguistic exercises, training materials and visual support materials.
- Working with language comprehension, articulation, vocabulary, grammar and other linguistic areas based on the children’s needs.
- Contributing to efforts for children with DLD or other language difficulties.
- Collaboration with the speech-language pathologist and school staff to support the children’s language development and participation in teaching.
- Practical and administrative support for the speech-language pathologist’s work.
You will receive ongoing professional sparring and supervision from the municipality’s speech-language pathologist. The tasks will be planned based on your competencies and experiences, and you will have the opportunity to gradually develop your skills in practice.
We imagine that you
- Are a student on the master’s program in audiology or speech-language pathology.
- Have an interest in children’s language, speech and communication development.
- Would preferably have knowledge of or interest in DLD and the consequences the language difficulties can have for schoolchildren’s learning and participation.
- Would like to work practically with children and translate professional knowledge into concrete actions.
- Work independently, take responsibility and are good at building relationships with children.
- Thrive with collaboration across professional groups.
- Have good communicative and written skills.
It is an advantage if you have experience from internships or student jobs with children, but it is not a requirement.
We offer
With us you get the opportunity to translate your theoretical knowledge into practice and gain experience with municipal speech-language pathology work. We offer:
- An academically developing student job with concrete tasks related to children’s linguistic development.
- A thorough introduction program with the municipality’s speech-language pathologist in the first month, where you will be introduced to the tasks, working methods and the children you will work with.
- Close professional sparring and ongoing supervision with the municipality’s speech-language pathologist.
- Opportunity to work with children with different language difficulties, including DLD.
- Insight into the collaboration between PPR and the schools’ pedagogical staff.
- An interdisciplinary environment where we work together to create good learning and participation opportunities for children.
