Syddjurs Youth School is seeking a proactive project manager for Fælles om Ungelivet, where you will work closely with and alongside the young people.

Fælles om Ungelivet: an initiative where you make a difference locally

Fælles om Ungelivet is a national initiative from the Danish Health Authority and Tryg Foundation. The vision is that more young people have a good youth life with strong communities and healthy leisure habits, where alcohol and other substances are not the focus.

The initiative is inspired by the Icelandic prevention model and targets youths aged 12-18. The basic idea is that change happens when young people, parents, associations and local communities pull together. It does not happen through information alone.

As program leader, you will be the one who makes it happen in Syddjurs. You will be the facilitator of an effort that connects the municipality’s youths, schools, halls, associations and local actors. Your day-to-day work ranges from strategic to practical. You develop activities together with the young, build lasting partnerships, book facilities, coordinate staffing and be on site when events are held. At the same time you are responsible for progress, finances and reporting to the steering group.

The effort is developed in close dialogue with the young and grounded in the opportunities in the local communities. This is a job for someone who can see the big picture and take action—and who wants to create activities that work and live on after the individual event.

Your main tasks

• Plan, coordinate and carry out events and activities for youths across Syddjurs Municipality, from idea and agreements to practical execution
• Take overall responsibility for the planning of events, including contact with partners, booking facilities, coordinating staffing and on-site execution
• Foster collaboration with halls, associations, schools, local actors and other stakeholders
• Build lasting local partnerships so activities reach a broad audience and can continue after the individual event
• Involve youths and develop activities that bring them together across towns and communities
• Ensure the project’s progress, financial overview, ongoing evaluation, documentation and reporting to the steering group and the Health Authority
• Create coherence with the youth school’s offerings and SSP initiatives
• Run and ensure meetings in Fælles om Ungelivet’s committee, including the Local Steering Group, the Working Project Group and the Advisory Board

We are looking for someone who

• Has experience with project management and preferably with events, leisure activities or youth activities
• Has insight into what engages young people, and can invite them to participate as active co-creators
• Is strong at organizing, building relationships and turning plans into action
• Can garner support from youths, parents and the associations
• Can both think strategically and tackle practical tasks
• Communicates clearly, works independently and thrives with many partners
• Can oversee several parallel initiatives

Practical information

Permanent position, initially 37 hours per week. Work location in Hornslet with activities across the municipality. Evening and weekend work should be expected for events. A driver’s license is required. Salary according to the applicable collective agreement. You report to the head of Syddjurs Youth School.
