Would you like to help strengthen mental health, proactive actions and communities among residents in disadvantaged housing areas? Then you have the opportunity here to become project leader on an exciting and meaningful health project in Slagelse Municipality, which is already well underway.
Prevention is seeking an engaged and relationship-strong project leader who will lead the project Health and Empowerment – Health Competence in Disadvantaged Housing Areas. The project is carried out in collaboration with FOB, Slagelse Housing Company and the Diabetes Association.
About the project
The project was launched in the summer of 2026, and there are already several initiatives underway as well as planned activities for spring 2027.
The aim of the project is to promote health equity by
- strengthening residents' mental resources and empowerment
- increasing participation in meaningful communities
- building local capacity through health ambassadors and community hosts
- contributing to creating presence in the projects three selected housing areas.
The initiative is based on ABC for mental health – a framework for promoting mental health and well-being. As project leader you become central in driving, coordinating and ensuring the continued development of the project in close collaboration with both housing organisations, residents, the Diabetes Association and your colleagues in Prevention and Public Health.
Your tasks
You will be responsible for continuing planning, implementation and follow-up on the projects activities. This means among other things that you shall
- contribute to the continued planning and execution of training of health ambassadors and community hosts
- initiate and facilitate network meetings, sparring and supervision for health ambassadors and community hosts
- support the health ambassadors in hosting workshops and local activities
- contribute to creating health-promoting frameworks in the housing areas – e.g., communal meals, activity days and ABC workshops
- build trusting relationships in the housing areas and collaborate with resident councils, local actors and staff
- coordinate across partners and actively participate in project groups and the steering committee
- document, evaluate and report activities and results to the projects external evaluator and the National Board of Health
- contribute to the projects dissemination and ongoing communication.
We are looking for someone who…
- has a health-related background with a relevant academic qualification
- has strong skills in project management, preferably with experience in health promotion, mental health or community projects
- thrives in an outreach role and can build relationships across disciplines, cultures and organizations
- has knowledge of – or willingness to work with – ABC for Mental Health
- has good facilitation and communication skills
- can work in a structured way with documentation, data and reporting
- is autonomous, curious and good at turning ideas into concrete action
- wants to work closely with citizens and create visible changes in their everyday lives.
We offer
An exciting and meaningful project with strong professional weight and strong partners. In your role as project leader you will have great influence, lots of responsibility and the opportunity to leave a lasting mark on health promotion and prevention work in local housing areas. You will become part of an engaged health area with room to think big and a focus on good collaboration.
Employment
The position is 37 hours per week with employment starting 1 January 2027.
The employment follows the project period, which is expected to end on 28 February 2029.
There can be an agreement for fewer hours.
The employment is on collective agreement terms with pay according to qualifications.
Your primary workplace will be Prevention, based in the Health House at Ingemannsvej 61, Slagelse. You will, however, have close collaboration with the Public Health Team based at the Town Hall, and you are expected to spend a portion of your time on outreach and proactive work in the housing areas.
There is the possibility of remote work depending on your concrete tasks. Slagelse Municipality has a smoke-free working time policy.
