About the job

Would you like to help make Region Midtjylland's use of medicine more sustainable?

The medication area constitutes a significant part of Region Midtjylland's total climate and resource footprint. As a project manager, you will have the opportunity to work in an area where even small changes can make a big difference for both climate, resource use, and the healthcare system's overall sustainability. At the Center for Sustainable Hospitals, we are looking for a project manager who can drive and anchor the region's work with sustainable medicine use in close collaboration with the hospitals, the Regional Pharmacy, and a wide range of other partners.

About the position

As a project manager you will be a central driving force in developing, implementing and anchoring initiatives that reduce medicine waste, resource use, and CO₂ footprint without compromising patient safety, quality or professionalism. As one of two project managers for the area, you will play an important role in bringing partners together around the shared goal, and you will help translate sustainable ambitions into concrete changes in practice across the region's hospitals.

Your tasks and success criteria

As a project manager you, together with a colleague, will share responsibility for leading and coordinating a cross-cutting portfolio of projects and implementation efforts within sustainable medicine use.

Your tasks will include, for example

  • Facilitate steering committees, project groups and working groups and support decision-making processes.
  • Prepare status reports, decision briefs and reporting of goals, effects and results.
  • Develop and follow up on measurable success criteria and documentation of gains.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and anchoring of initiatives in the medication area. In the first phase within the themes “Only necessary medicine,” “Use the patient’s own medicines” and “More sustainable administration forms.”
  • Ensure progress, coordination and collaboration across the hospitals, the Regional Pharmacy, and other partners.
  • Represent Region Midtjylland in relevant regional and national collaborations.
  • Contribute to the development of new projects and initiatives within sustainable medicine use.
  • Contribute to the general work in the Center for Sustainable Hospitals, including participation in working groups, external events, and collaboration with the sustainability consultants at the hospitals.

Your profile

You have a foot in both the project-expertise and healthcare toolkit and have a strong interest in applying your skills with a focus on the green transition of the healthcare system.

As a person you are structured and outgoing and thrive with a large range of contact at both organizational and managerial levels but also clinically close to Region Midtjylland's units. You understand how to succeed together with both internal and external partners and see diversity as a strength.

You work proactively and thrive with taking responsibility for processes and ensuring that the results reach all the way to the clinical reality at the units. You see that implementation in daily practice is the necessary and complex end goal that creates lasting changes for the benefit of both patients and climate/environment.

We emphasize that you have

  • A healthcare background at the master's level or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of healthcare experience – experience in the field of medicine is an advantage.
  • Documented experience with project management in a hospital-related context or the healthcare system in general.
  • Experience with implementing new procedures and workflows within sustainability in healthcare is an advantage.
  • Experience navigating multiple levels in a politically led complex organization.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to build and work through relationships.
  • Strong interest in sustainability and the green transformation in healthcare.
  • Good analytical skills and interest in data, monitoring and documenting effects.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to translate complex knowledge into action.
