About the job

Do you have a solid project manager toolbox and are you motivated by creating momentum and bringing strategic projects all the way to the finish line? Do you also want to work closely with top management and gain insight into the decisions that set the direction for a large government organization? Then you may be our new colleague in the Directorate Secretariat.

We are looking for a new colleague who can take responsibility for decisive projects in our portfolio of strategic projects and follow-up on the agency's strategic initiatives and who thrives on translating data, analyses and input from the organization into clear decision proposals for the board. It will largely be projects related to the agency's business development and to some extent also projects that may contain elements of IT support, automation or digitalization. For example, in the coming year we expect to work with the procurement area, where both processes and IT support are essential.

The position gives you a unique opportunity to gain deep insight into how a large government organization works with strategy, project management and management support.

Strategic projects, follow-up and management support

You will play a central role in ensuring progress and overview of one or more of the agency's strategic projects and initiatives. You will work closely with the board and the management team and will help translate the agency's strategy into concrete actions and results.

Your tasks will include, among other things

  • work methodically with timelines, milestones, risk management and stakeholder management for concrete projects that you will be responsible for
  • coordinate the projects' deliverables across the agency so that the various professional tracks work together
  • systematically follow up on progress, risks and dependencies
  • collaborate with the project group, steering group and board to ensure the projects' direction
  • There will also be ongoing more operations-related tasks in relation to meetings, processes and coordination across the agency.

A key function in the Directorate Secretariat

We place emphasis on a strong professional environment where we spar with each other, share knowledge and help each other across tasks. You will come very close to the board in the Building Agency, where you will have direct influence on strategic decisions and a unique insight into how they are translated into concrete projects and results in the organization. You will collaborate broadly with offices and centers within the agency when projects are planned, implemented and followed up.

The Directorate Secretariat is part of the Center for Staff – in addition to the Directorate Secretariat, it consists of press and communications as well as HR. You will report to the secretary-general, but in daily work you will to a large extent also cooperate directly with the board.

Your profile: Project-oriented, analytical and strong in written communication

We imagine that you have a social science master's degree, for example MSc in political science, cand.scient.pol., cand.polit., cand.merc. or similar. You can either have experience from an agency, a ministry or another large organization, or be a recent graduate with a clear interest in strategic project work and management support.

It is important to us that you

  • write and communicate clearly, both in writing and orally, and can make complex issues understandable
  • have an eye for how projects and strategic initiatives fit with governance and operations in everyday life
  • have good collaboration skills and thrive on working across disciplines and organizational levels
  • quickly can get up to speed on new topics and translate them into concrete recommendations for management
  • work structurally, are good at creating overview and take responsibility for progress, follow-up and deadlines

You must be able to handle periods of high tempo and many parallel tasks, while maintaining quality and delivering on time.

Salary and employment terms

You will be employed under the current collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state.

You will be placed based on seniority and experience as a legal clerk at base level or as a special- or chief consultant according to the applicable collective agreement, which you can find here and the Employees' and Competence Authority's salary overview, which you can find here . Depending on your qualifications and competences there is the possibility of negotiation of a supplement. There will be an employer-funded pension scheme of 18.07 percent attached. Alternatively you will be employed under another relevant collective agreement.
