About the job

The Rhythmic Music Conservatory seeks a project assistant who will be involved in the work around a larger evaluation effort in the arts pedagogy field, and contribute to facilitating a competence development program for arts pedagogues.

About the position

In this project position you will work in close collaboration with the conservatory's academic staff in connection with a larger development project in the arts-pedagogical area, of which RMC is a part. The program concerns young people's access to and participation in musical communities, and as a project employee you will join a team responsible for the evaluation efforts in the program and facilitate a competence development program for practitioners from the participating local projects.

The work involves guiding the local evaluation managers, analyzing data from the projects and communicating results through reports and presentations. In connection with the competence development program you will be responsible for developing, planning and conducting workshops, where practitioners with different backgrounds can exchange perspectives on working to create inclusive musical communities for young people.

Qualifications

We emphasize that you have in-depth knowledge of the arts-pedagogical field, and preferably personal experience with facilitating musical communities for young people. We also expect that you have experience with research and/or evaluation projects in the arts-pedagogical area. Additionally, it is a plus if you have teaching experience from higher music education, professional colleges or universities, and/or experience with facilitating competence development for arts pedagogues. We value cooperation, flexibility and the ability to independently contribute to solving the varied tasks this position includes.

Salary and terms of employment

The position is on average about 4 hours per week, but in certain periods it can rise to up to 7 hours per week. You should expect that the work on the project is not evenly distributed but gathered in more intensive periods. You will largely have the opportunity to influence how the work is organized. The appointment is fixed-term and runs from January 1, 2027 to June 30, 2029.

Employment and remuneration are carried out in accordance with the relevant collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the representative negotiating organization.
