About the job

Working with children and adolescents with severe eating disorders is both professionally challenging and deeply meaningful. In the Psychiatric Clinic for Eating Disorders you will meet engaged and experienced colleagues, high specialization and a strong multidisciplinary collaboration around this target group.

If you want to be part of this, we are now seeking an engaged psychologist for a permanent position in our team in Gødstrup. Here you get the opportunity to become part of a small local team with close collaborative relationships, while at the same time you are part of a larger highly specialized professional environment across the clinic's sites. We want to hire a psychologist who is willing to commit long-term to the development of our local offerings and patient pathways in the area.

About the clinic

The clinic, together with the Ward for Eating Disorders, provides the hospital-based psychiatric treatment of children and adolescents with moderate to severe eating disorders.

We are a clinic distributed across two sites in the Central Denmark Region with a large team in Skejby (AUH) and a smaller one in Gødstrup (RHG). The position is permanently attached to Gødstrup, but you should expect roughly 2 days/month on-site in Skejby, as we work closely together in daily practice around shared patient pathways, supervision, teaching, staff meetings, etc.

The clinic is characterized by high professionalism, ongoing development focus, and a long tradition of specialized treatment of eating disorders. The treatment method is primarily family-based treatment (FBT), where the family is seen as the most important resource, and the treatment supports the family's ability to help the child out of the eating disorder. You should be prepared to work outpatient with severely ill children/adolescents and their families.

This therapeutic field is often characterized by high emotional intensity, but it also always offers development opportunities for both the child and the family.

We work multidisciplinary and have the following professional groups employed: psychologists, doctors, nurses, social workers, pedagogues and healthcare assistants. In outpatient treatment there is close collaboration with our inpatient ward, pediatrics, the rest of child and adolescent psychiatry, residential institutions as well as municipal actors.

In collaboration with the team you as a psychologist will

  • independently manage treatment pathways
  • ensure and coordinate cooperation with professional networks around the family; including holding networking meetings
  • carry out assessment of eating disorders and comorbidity
  • contribute to the professional development and competence development in both the psychology group and the entire unit
  • potentially take on internal and external supervision tasks in the future
  • potentially take on teaching and counseling tasks in the future.

We place particular emphasis on you

can work independently while showing loyalty to common decisions and a shared professional direction

have experience working with eating disorders

have psychotherapeutic – and preferably family therapy – experience

have an interest in complex problems

as a person thrive in a small, closely collaborative professional environment, and you wish to be a stable and long-term part of our team in Gødstrup.

We offer you

  • thorough introduction and mentoring scheme
  • to join a committed, humorous and professionally highly qualified treating team with a focus on development
  • a good working environment with a focus on cohesion and a good balance between tasks and working hours
  • continuous supervision
  • close collegial sparring
  • specialized treatment based on multidisciplinary collaboration
  • participation in teaching and thematic days.

The majority of the treatment is conducted outpatient. BUA covers four main areas: Infants, School-age children, Adolescents and Eating disorders. The staff comprises doctors, nurses, psychologists, pedagogues, social workers and more.

The department received 5,212 external referrals in 2025 and had contact with about 9,500 unique CPR numbers. In 2025, the department had a net budget of DKK 330 million and as of 1/12-2025 571 full-time equivalents distributed among 634 employees.
