Pedagogical-Psychological Substitute for the Children and Youth Committee in Holbæk, Rødovre and Gladsaxe Municipality

Do you want to help make a difference for vulnerable children and young people? The Family Court (Familieretshuset) is seeking a pedagogical-psychological expert to act as a substitute in Holbæk, Rødovre and Gladsaxe Municipalities' Children and Youth Committee. The committee makes decisions about, among other things, placements and contact for children and young people who are placed outside their homes.

Your knowledge is important

You will be appointed as a pedagogical-psychological expert in Holbæk, Rødovre and/or Gladsaxe Municipality's Children and Youth Committee. There is a Children and Youth Committee in each of Denmark's 98 municipalities. The committee consists of two locally elected politicians, a judge and two pedagogical-psychological experts, the latter being appointed by the Family Court.

It is the Children and Youth Committee that makes decisions when a municipality wishes to place a child or a young person outside the home or set the rules for contact. Based on the overall material that the municipality presents – including investigations – you must use your professional judgment to relate to the situation of the child or young person.

About you

There is no requirement for a specific degree, but you must have a relevant psychological, social or child-focused education. In addition, you must have documented experience working with vulnerable children and young people. For example, you may be a trained psychologist, psychiatrist or social worker with many years of experience and continuing education in the field.

You must be able to document

• Relevant higher education
• Relevant continuing education or courses
• Experience from the child and youth sector, including particularly vulnerable children and young people

Thus, with your experience and assessment you must ensure that the decisions are based on a solid child-focused basis, and where necessary take the child’s best interests into account – in accordance with the purpose of providing special support to children and young people. Therefore it is not essential which education you have, as long as you bring your experience and professionalism into play in complex and often difficult decisions.

Scope of work and practicalities

It is the Family Court that appoints the pedagogical-psychological experts for all municipalities, while the municipality handles the committee administration and approves the fee request, etc.

The appointment lasts until and including 2029 .

It is difficult to predict how many times you will be summoned. Most people take on the role as a side activity.

Last year, 95% of cases were resolved at planned meetings, but there may be a need for meetings on short notice – the acute meetings – within one week. You must therefore be prepared for this.

If you are appointed, you must establish a CVR number, which is free for personally owned businesses. You must also be prepared for both digital settlement and municipalities' digital case processing .

If you work with children or young people in a municipality, you cannot be a pedagogical-psychological expert in the same place.

Honorarium

The honorarium is settled on the basis of an hourly rate of DKK 819.27 in 2025, and there is a fixed number of hours per case type. See the full model for the honorarium in the fact box at the bottom.

Appointments are made in accordance with § 19, section 1, no. 3, of the Act on Legal Security and Administration in the Social Field, Public Law Act no. 354 of 2 April 2025.
