About the job

Would you like to help make a difference for children and youths who have experienced abuse – then you have the opportunity here:

Based on the Child Act there continues to be an increasing number of cases at Børnehus Sjælland, and the implementation of trauma-focused treatment methods requires additional resources.

We are therefore seeking psychologists for permanent positions with start on December 1, 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter, for our department in Næstved.

Who we are

Børnehus Sjælland is organizationally anchored in the Center for Children and Youth in the Municipality of Næstved and has departments in Næstved and Roskilde.

It is the task of Børnehus Sjælland to ensure a coordinated and gentle multidisciplinary approach of high quality in cases where there is knowledge or suspicion of violence or sexual abuse against children aged 0-18 years.

The purpose of the effort in the Danish children’s houses is to assess children and youths for possible consequences of abuse as part of the municipal child welfare §20 investigation. The goal of the effort is that the child / the young person receives the proper support and thus has a better chance of recovery. We always work together in pairs, social worker and psychologist, and in daily life you will be surrounded by passionate and engaged colleagues from both professional groups.

An organization in significant development

As a new feature at Børnehus Sjælland, there will be opportunities to carry out both shorter and longer-term treatment programs for children and youths who have been assessed by us.

The Næstved department is located in the center of Næstved, within walking distance of Næstved Station. We are in new, nice and child-friendly physical surroundings. We have close collaboration with our other department in Roskilde and Fønix Sjælland.

As a psychologist at Børnehus Sjælland you will have the opportunity to

  • Be part of a monofach team consisting of approximately 30 psychologists
  • Through assessment interviews establish and evaluate the child’s current mental state and needs with special focus on post-traumatic reactions and traumatization
  • Prepare final reports for the municipal authorities’ advisors
  • Provide guidance, counseling and professional sparring to other sectors involved in the assessment of possible abuse of the child, whether municipality, police and/or health services
  • Carry out shorter crisis intervention programs with children and youths
  • Opportunity to manage treatment programs
  • Continuously participate in cross-sector meetings
  • Contribute to the children’s house’s function as a knowledge unit in relation to abuse
  • Arrange your own work tasks
