Psykiatrisk Center Ballerup seeks psychologist for PTSD team

One of our psychologists is leaving to become a specialist psychologist, so we have a vacancy from 1 December 2026 and are therefore seeking a psychologist with experience in PTSD treatment for our PTSD team in the Psychotherapeutic Outpatient Clinic.

Psychologist in the PTSD team

Here you will become part of a large and highly specialized PTSD team. Our treatment is multidisciplinary and we emphasize strong collaboration on all treatment courses.

In the team there are 13 psychologists, 2 specialist psychologists, 1 consultant physician and 2 junior doctors as well as a part-time social worker.

The PTSD team handles package deliveries for PTSD in primary functional treatment and in addition our outpatient clinic also has the regional function for the entire Region Hovedstaden. Linked to the regional function are special tasks such as treatment courses for more complex problems, research and diagnostic work.

We work manual-based using evidence-based methods with Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy and Prolonged Exposure, and always with focus on what the individual patient needs. Our treatment is primarily individual, but we also have a mindfulness group and an exposure group linked to the regional function. We also include relatives, including fixed relative afternoons in groups. In addition we offer sleep treatment both medically and therapeutically.

As part of the regional function there will also be ongoing opportunities for development tasks, such as teaching and disseminating. If you do not have training in Prolonged Exposure, you will obtain this as we periodically set up such training.

Psychiatric Center Ballerup houses an internationally recognized research group within PTSD in the Competence Center for Transcultural Psychiatry, which is involved in collaboration with our Psychotherapeutic Outpatient Clinic on research, development and teaching under the research unit TREAT. Together, the two outpatient clinics constitute the country’s largest professional environment for trauma-related disorders.

About the Psychotherapeutic Outpatient Clinic

The Psychotherapeutic Outpatient Clinic is a medium-sized, well-functioning and development-oriented psychotherapeutic clinic with focus on high wellbeing.

The outpatient clinic is well-run and characterized by qualified and engaged staff, high quality in treatment and a very good working environment. We emphasize a developmental and trust-based learning environment with time for supervision and teaching. The professional community plays a big role, and we make use of each other's competencies across teams.

We are a total of 37 employees, divided into 2 teams each with its own team coordinator. The two teams handle assessment and treatment of respectively: Depression and Personality disorders emotionally unstable and evasive personality structure, and a PTSD team, where this is the last team where we are now seeking a psychologist. We also have cross-clinic activities such as a sleep team with sleep treatment in a transdiagnostic setting.

The majority of the staff are psychologists and in addition there are nurses with psychotherapeutic competence and a part-time social worker.

The outpatient clinic has its own secretariat, which reports to the department management.

Your tasks

• Psychotherapy based on evidence-based methods, primarily individual.
• Initial assessments if you are a licensed psychologist.
• Selected diagnostic tasks.
• Network collaboration and work with relatives.
• Actively participate in collaboration interfaces as well as development- and research-related tasks-

In addition you will be part of team functions such as treatment conferences, supervision groups, team meetings and joint meetings as well as teaching in the outpatient clinic.

We are looking for

• A psychologist (cand.psych.) preferably specialist or licensed.
• Experience with PTSD treatment.
• Experience with cognitive behavioral therapy.
• Experience with psychiatry.
• Independent worker.

We also expect that you are collaborative and with a natural approach to interdisciplinary collaboration and a desire to contribute to a good working environment.

About Psychiatric Center Ballerup (PC Ballerup)

PC Ballerup is a modern hospital with about 750 employees and main functions within emergency reception, inpatient, day and outpatient treatment. PC Ballerup has special functions within treatment of PTSD, eating disorders, traumatized refugees, rehabilitation and deaf psychiatry. PC Ballerup has a large group of psychologists of over 80 people across the departments.

Salary and employment terms

The position is 37 hours per week. with appointment 1 December 2026 or as soon as possible.

You are employed in accordance with the collective agreement for academics employed in regions, etc.
