Can you make a salad bar tempting, put the finishing touch on today's dish and at the same time greet guests with a smile – even when there is a queue at the counter? Then maybe you are the one we are looking for for our staff canteen in the psychiatry department in Roskilde.

In our canteens, running the canteen is not just about getting the food onto the plate. It's about creating a good meal and a pleasant breathing space in the workday for the staff and guests who visit us every day.

Your everyday with us

You will become part of a team of 3 colleagues who together make the canteen sing from the morning. In our canteen we make the food ourselves, and there is plenty of room for professionalism, creativity and good ideas. Every day we prepare, among other things, an inviting salad bar, warm dishes, home-baked bread and open sandwiches – always with a focus on taste, quality and good ingredients. Here you will be an active part of the whole process from preparation and cooking to the final plating.

We also provide catering for meetings and events across the entire hospital, so the days are not necessarily the same.

We work together as a team

We work across tasks so that everyone gets to know the whole operation and can help each other when needed. It brings variation to everyday life – and a strong team.

Your tasks will include

• Preparation, adjustment and plating of today's meals
• Production of the salad bar, open-faced sandwiches and other cold and warm dishes
• Baking of fresh bread
• Serving and customer service for our guests
• Catering for meetings and events
• Ordering of supplies
• Electronic self-check via E-Smiley
• Focus on food waste, raw materials and CO2
• Cleaning and the practical tasks that make a good kitchen run

Who are we looking for?

You have a kitchen-related background such as a nutrition assistant, cook or caterer – preferably combined with a few years' experience from a canteen or another professional kitchen. The way you are as a colleague and how you meet our guests matters at least as much.

How your workday will look

Working hours are on weekdays between 07:00-14:30. You will have weekends and holidays off. On rare occasions we have events outside normal working hours. When that happens, we help each other, of course.

Salary and employment terms according to the applicable collective agreement between Region Zealand and the trade union (Kost og Ernæringsforbundet, FOA or 3F).

Starting salary for collective agreement employees

The region is obliged to inform you of the starting salary for the position. You will be informed of base pay, centrally established allowances and pension under the relevant collective agreement. In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.
