About Hammer Bakker Release Prison

Staying at Denmark's Prisons' release prisons can be part of the release to society in the final part of a sentence. All release prisons accept both women and men. The purpose of staying at a Release Prison is to support and help the individual create a situation that makes the person better able to live a life without crime.

There is room for 27 residents distributed across five departments, one of which is a family house. The Family House specializes in pedagogical and social work with families where one or both parents are incarcerated.

During the daytime, the residents are either employed outside the release prison with work or education or they are at the house where they participate in various activities.

Your tasks as a night shift worker will primarily be

  • To support and motivate residents toward a life without crime. The tasks surrounding each resident are diverse, and you take, as the contact person, in collaboration with your colleagues, the starting point in the release and action plan when you plan the good release process
  • Case management in the form of, for example, drafting and following up on professionally qualified action plans, further release as well as releases in close cooperation with both internal and external partners
  • To organize and participate in various activities with the residents, where the relational work carries the task
  • To make the release period as close to lived life as possible and include the surrounding civil society
  • To work with group dynamics and the residents' social skills in the different departments, which hold a mandatory meeting once a week and a joint resident meeting once a month
  • Practical ad hoc tasks

About you

  • We expect that you have a education as a social educator, social worker or similar. You have broad professional experience from working with addicts, criminals or other at-risk groups.
  • You master professional relationship-building with the residents
  • You are structured, independent and can maintain an overview in a daily life with many different tasks, where the resident is in focus
  • You are able to create a close and respectful multidisciplinary collaboration with the release prison's other staff and contribute to a healthy and safe environment with learning and development in mind
  • You have insight into and a willingness for multidisciplinary collaboration with authorities and partners

In addition, you are proactive and have an eye for development opportunities for the residents, the collegial environment and for Hammer Bakker Release Prison in general. You have good communication skills and can articulate yourself clearly and constructively both orally and in writing.
