About the job

Do you have strong professional and analytical skills – and a desire to work at the intersection of policy, governance and operational reality?

Then you now have the opportunity to become part of the implementation of the New Conscription – one of the most complex and central development initiatives in the future of the Defence.

The Defence faces a significant task: to develop and implement a new conscription model that must operate across branches, commands, agencies and the ministry, while ensuring alignment with legislation, recruitment, establishments, materiel, training plans, communication, etc.

We are looking for a case handler with project responsibility, who will take responsibility and drive this work.

About us

The Conscription Programme sits under the Development and Planning Staff in the Defence Command, where we work with the Defence's overall implementation of the new conscription model.

We are organized in a number of projects; from the implementation in the individual services and commands to supporting the new model through establishment, materiel, legislation, gender equality initiatives, communication, etc.

The programme currently consists of around 14 project managers, each with their own areas of responsibility.

About the position

As a case handler in the programme you will be responsible for your own area of responsibility, which entails independent responsibility to ensure timely planning, management and control.

Depending on your background, your area of responsibility may be establishment, procurement of materiel, implementation work in one of the services, programme support or a mix of several areas. The most important thing is that you have the ability to create progress at the required level.

Your main tasks are

  • Planning and coordination of implementation within your own area in close dialogue with the ministry respectively Defence authorities
  • Coordination across branches, authorities and agencies in the Defence
  • Preparation of implementation plans, milestones and follow-up tools
  • Identification and handling of risks, dependencies and interfaces
  • Preparation of decision proposals and staff notes
  • Contribution to consistency and coherence in the implementation of the new conscription across the Defence

About you

We imagine that you have a relevant academic degree such as cand.soc.

It is important that you

  • Can work in a structured way with planning, progress and follow-up
  • Thrive in a coordinating role with many stakeholders
  • Have strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Are independent, analytical and solution-oriented

It will be an advantage if you have experience from the Defence Command or a level II authority and/or the ministry.

We offer

  • An opportunity to work on a centrally important project at the Defence Command (FKO).
  • A daily life characterized by high professionalism, collaboration and responsibility.
  • Influence on planning and execution of a complex implementation project.
  • Good opportunities for professional and personal development.
  • Excellent flexibility regarding your own daily planning.

Conditions of employment

If you are an academic, you are employed under the currently applicable collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state (Academic Agreement).

Depending on your qualifications and competencies, there is potential for negotiation of supplements. There is an employer-financed pension scheme attached to the position.

The workplace is in Copenhagen.

As an employee within the Ministry of Defence's area, you are subject to certain special conditions. You must, among other things, be security cleared and maintain the security clearance throughout the employment period.

You as an employee have a duty to perform service outside the country, including at units in international operations with a view to participation in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peacemaking, humanitarian and other similar operations.

Contact and application

If you want to hear more about the position, you are welcome to contact Major Jan Jørgensen at telephone 728 40292.

If you have questions about pay and employment terms you are welcome to contact the Personnel Command, HR consultant Stinne Strøjr Hansen at telephone 2023 9031.

The application deadline is 6 November 2026 and interviews are expected to be held subsequently. The position is to be filled as soon as possible or by agreement.

You apply for the position via the link, and we ask you to attach application, CV and copy of degree certificate. Please note that attachments must be added in PDF format.
