About the job

Sector Adviser to the Danish Embassy in Bogotá – City Cooperation with the City of Copenhagen

Would you like to help develop the City Cooperation between the City of Copenhagen and Bogotá?

As a sector adviser at the Danish embassy in Bogotá, you will be the link between the embassy, the City of Copenhagen and the city government of Bogotá. The cooperation enters a new phase in 2027 with a focus on, among other things, cycling, drinking water and wastewater, and you will have a central role in getting the new phase started.

Your tasks will include

  • prepare and carry out delegations visits, professional seminars and workshops
  • be responsible for project follow-up, project management and reporting
  • bring together the right stakeholders and work closely with experts from the City of Copenhagen and Bogotá
  • bring Danish solutions and companies into play together with the embassy's trade department and the Trade Council

Bogotá is a major city with about 10 million inhabitants and a complex political context, and there are local elections in 2027. You must therefore be able to create momentum, even when decisions take time, and thrive with the fact that not everything is decided from the start.

We expect that you

  • have a relevant postgraduate education and at least five years of relevant professional experience
  • have international experience
  • have political acuity and cultural understanding and be a strong facilitator
  • understand how municipalities and cities work (municipal experience is not a requirement)
  • preferably have experience with technical urban infrastructure, especially water and wastewater supply, or active mobility
  • speak Danish and English at negotiation level. Spanish at negotiation level is a prerequisite. If you do not yet have the level, you must be able to document that you can reach it before the start. A Spanish language test may be conducted

It is a condition of employment that you are security cleared.
