Do you want to drive and further develop the city cooperation between Aarhus Municipality and City of Tshwane? As sector advisor you will be the link between the embassy, Aarhus Municipality and the South African cooperation partners and will be responsible for the daily implementation of phase III with focus on drinking water and wastewater. You shall contribute to project management, follow-up and reporting as well as plan and carry out delegation visits, professional seminars and workshops.

You shall also build and maintain relations with local authorities, international partners, companies and knowledge institutions. An important part of the position is to contribute to the project's exit and transition work and ensure that the results are carried forward sustainably. In close collaboration with the embassy's team for economic diplomacy you must also help create opportunities for Danish companies in water technology and sustainable city solutions.

The position requires international experience, strong competencies in project coordination and authority cooperation as well as the ability to work independently and create progress in a dynamic political environment. You are outgoing, collaborative and a strong facilitator and networker.

Employment terms

As sector advisor you are employed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, based at the Danish embassy in Pretoria and part of the embassy staff. You will have a fixed-term appointment from the date of deployment. The deployment period is approx. 3.5 years (depending on deployment date) until 31/12-2030.

Salary and terms of employment will be in accordance with the AC agreement in the state. All figures are stated at current level (August 2026). You will receive a base salary (excluding pension) as a special consultant of kr. 574.099 annually plus a functional allowance of kr. 33.613 annually and a departmental allowance of kr. 25.464 annually corresponding to an annual salary of a total of kr. 747.591 incl. pension (18.07% pension rate). There will also be the possibility of allocation of a qualification allowance based on relevant experience and competence.

It is a condition of employment that you are security cleared.
