DAQUMA continues to grow, and we are looking for an experienced Senior Data & AI Engineerto join our team. We are looking for someone who combines strong hands-on technical capabilities with the ability to work directly with clients and deliver solutions in complex, regulated environments.

About the role

As a Senior Data & AI Engineer, you will support DAQUMA's life science and pharmaceutical clients on projects spanning data engineering, data migrations, AI solutions and cloud-based system implementations.

You will work hands-on with data and technology while collaborating closely with business stakeholders, IT teams and other specialists. Projects may range from migrating large volumes of data from legacy platforms to designing cloud-based data pipelines and developing AI-enabled solutions.

Depending on the client, the role could involve

• Designing, developing and maintaining data pipelines and data processing solutions
• Planning and executing data migrations, including extraction, transformation, data mapping, cleansing, reconciliation and loading
• Developing Python-based solutions for data processing, migration, automation and analysis
• Working with cloud infrastructure and data services, preferably within Microsoft Azure, with AWS experience also highly relevant
• Supporting the design and implementation of cloud-based data architectures
• Exploring and implementing Generative AI and AI-enabled solutions for life science use cases
• Using tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude and other GenAI solutions as a natural part of your daily engineering workflow
• Supporting IT system implementations and integrations across modern and legacy environments
• Working with data and systems in GxP-regulated environments, including appropriate documentation, testing and validation activities
• Engaging directly with clients to translate business and technical requirements into pragmatic solutions

About you

You bring

• 5+ years of relevant experience within data engineering, software engineering, cloud engineering, data migration or similar technical roles
• Strong hands-on Python capabilities and experience developing production-quality data processing solutions
• Experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines and working with structured and unstructured data
• Practical experience with data migration, ideally involving legacy systems, enterprise applications or large/complex datasets
• Experience working with cloud platforms and services, preferably Microsoft Azure; AWS experience is also highly relevant
• Experience with relevant data technologies such as SQL, APIs, data lakes, databases and integration technologies
• Experience from the pharmaceutical or life science industry is strongly preferred
• Understanding of GxP and working with validated systems is a significant advantage
• Strong proficiency in applying Generative AI tools to improve the quality and efficiency of your daily work
• The ability to engage directly with clients, understand their challenges and translate requirements into technical solutions
• A pragmatic and solution-oriented mindset with the ability to independently drive technical tasks from problem to implementation
• A collaborative mindset and an interest in contributing to the continued development of DAQUMA's data and AI capabilities
