Join Siemens Energy as a Senior Power System Engineering Specialist and lead the conceptual and system design of high-voltage substations from 72.5 kV to 420 kV for onshore and offshore projects. The role combines system design decisions in the early tender and conceptual design phase, where you take part in customer dialogues to optimize the system design, with managing the power system studies as a work package in projects.

Working closely with customers, project managers and engineering experts, you define the main electrical parameters of the system. Your work turns complex technical requirements into reliable power system solutions that support the future of sustainable energy.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Leading system design activities for high-voltage substations, including AIS and GIS solutions for onshore and offshore applications
• Developing and reviewing single-line diagrams, electrical philosophies, interface definitions and technical concepts, and defining the main electrical parameters for transformers, reactors, switchgear and auxiliary systems
• Managing the power system studies as a work package in projects, planning which studies are needed at each stage so components can be procured with the right data
• Evaluating power system performance and ensuring compliance with grid codes, client specifications and international standards such as IEC and EN
• Providing technical leadership during tendering, project execution, design reviews and risk assessments, including quick calculations to verify proposed concepts
• Collaborating with customers, certification bodies, technology suppliers and engineering teams, and driving technical decision-making and the continuous development of engineering best practices and standards

What You Bring

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum 10 years of experience within high-voltage substation and power system engineering, including transmission substations in the 72.5 kV to 420 kV range
• Proven experience with system design, grid code compliance and power system studies for the grid connection of wind farms, for example from offshore wind, utility-scale transmission or renewable energy integration
• Strong understanding of power system behavior under normal and fault conditions, and practical experience with power transformers, shunt reactors, earthing auxiliary transformers and high-voltage switchgear technologies
• Knowledge of protection and control concepts and power system studies, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken

About the Team

This position is part of our Substation engineering department in Denmark, which consists of four engineering teams and a number of specialists reporting directly to the Head of Engineering. The role works across different projects and tenders, together with power system calculation experts in Germany and Denmark.
