Senior prosecutors for the State Attorney's Office in Copenhagen

The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in Copenhagen is seeking senior prosecutors who want to be part of our team where integrity, high professionalism and genuine job satisfaction are essential. The positions are vacant to be filled by 1 January 2027 and are placed in the Supervisory Pillar.

About the positions

The prosecutors supervise the police districts' handling of criminal cases. The supervision includes, among other things, the districts' implementation and application of rules and guidelines for the handling of criminal cases, indictment practices, sanction claims, decisions and observance of deadlines.

The supervision should help underpin high legal certainty and propriety in the handling of criminal cases.

As a senior prosecutor in the Supervisory Pillar you will have an exciting and developing role, where you, among other things, will be required to support the Attorney General's supervision of the police districts.

Your work will among other things consist of

• helping identify improvement potentials in connection with the supervision,
• carrying out supervisory tasks,
• participating in collaboration with the police districts and other external partners,
• conducting case processing in various forms of cases, including complaints,
• appearing in the High Court.

You

You are an experienced prosecutor or senior prosecutor, who is committed, has a holistic view, and who can resolve concrete and general legal questions at a high professional level. You have good communication skills and are good at collaborating. You have a positive mindset and a desire to make a difference.

Finally you thrive in a combination of general tasks, handling of concrete cases and court work, and you are good at managing your time and prioritizing between your tasks. And most importantly – you want to develop with us and contribute to the Copenhagen Office of the State Attorney being a good place to be, which delivers and supports criminal case processing at a high professional level.

Salary and terms of employment

If you are a senior prosecutor and have recently completed the rotation in the prosecution service, you will as a rule be placed in the pay grade as a legal trainee with a readiness allowance under the collective agreement for academics in the state as well as a basic education allowance under the annex to the agreement relating to an overview of allowances and special provisions.

If you have a minimum of five years of seniority, completed the rotation and in total have had three different jobs or positions, you will likewise be compensated under the same annex with a post-rotation allowance. Placement and any other allowances are negotiated through the union representative.

If you are a senior prosecutor with more experience, you will be salaried positioned as a special consultant under the agreement for academics in the state, unless you are already a civil servant. Placement in the base salary range including pension and any allowances is negotiated individually.

The position's employing area is the Ministry of Justice and related institutions. If you are already employed in the Ministry of Justice's employment area, a move to the position would be an internal transfer within the area.

You must be security cleared to the level required for the position – normally to the classification level Secret. You may be required to perform functions where security clearance to a higher classification level is necessary. Employment in the police and the public prosecutor's service is conditional on you at all times being able to maintain the necessary security clearance.
