We are looking for a specialist in surgery for the Gastro Unit, Amager Hvidovre Hospital

Lower Surgical Team seeks a specialist in surgery with an interest and experience within the field of IBD and colorectal surgery. In the Lower Team we perform diagnostic workup and surgical treatment of cancer in the colon and rectum, benign colorectal conditions including proctology and sequelae at main function level. Hereudover varetages surgical treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, TEO and EMR at regional level, and pouch surgery, FAP and anal incontinence including SNM at specialist level.

The Gastro Unit has responsibility for the planning area south in Region Hovedstaden with 600,000 inhabitants and handles acute and elective surgical and gastromedicinal patient pathways. The unit has surgical, gastromedicinal as well as shared bed units including a semi-intensive unit, a central operating corridor, an endoscopy department, outpatient clinics and day hospitals within both specialties and a collaboration with the day surgical department.

Amager Hvidovre Hospital is a large acute hospital and 75 % of the Gastro Unit's operative activity consists of acute procedures. The department is part of the joint emergency reception and on-call functions within the surgical specialty and is expected to occupy up to 50 % of working time. The position is to be filled by 1 May 2027.
