About the job

The Family Department has been allocated additional resources as of January 1, 2027

If you would like to become part of our dynamic department, we are soon in need of new colleagues in the Family Department's Youth Team.

We are looking for skilled and engaged colleagues who will help ensure that inclusion and professionalism go hand in hand when it comes to young people who find themselves in a challenging life situation. You can expect a group of highly dedicated colleagues who go the extra mile to help the most vulnerable children and young people in Vejle.

About the job

We are hiring a total of 4 social workers/social facilitators. 1 to start on December 1, 2026 and 3 to start on January 1, 2027. These are permanent 37-hour positions.

In the Family Department you will be part of a department with a high professional level.

You will experience the possibility of close collaboration and sparring with your colleagues, professional consultants and management. In daily work there is a focus on ensuring that we work to find the most meaningful support for the children, young people and families we are here to help.

In the Family Department in Vejle Municipality there are more than 80 advisers employed.

In the Youth Team, where the positions are located, we will be 26 advisers, 2 professional consultants and 1 team leader with you. We are thus many who together burn to contribute to the well-being and development of children and families.

The Youth Team focuses primarily on young people from about 15 to 18 years, where we are focused on working with good transitions to adulthood. The challenges can be varied; for example based on family challenges that stem from either parents or the young person, crime or based on a disability that justifies a compensatory effort.

Through The Municipal Youth Initiative (KUI) we join with other important municipal actors to make good plans with the young person.

Your primary tasks will be

  • General case handling – including counseling and guidance, screening and meetings
  • Involvement of the child/the young person
  • Preparation of assessments, child welfare investigations and non-child welfare investigations
  • Initiation of support under the Child Act or the Act on Combating Youth Crime
  • Preparation of the child’s and/or young person’s plan
  • Follow-up on supportive actions and placements

We focus on a good and close collaboration with the child, the parents, the network, civil society and our partners. In the Family Department we use ICS as a method and the well-being scale as a progression tool. We work holistic and in a dialog-based manner in case processing, where the focus is increased involvement of both private and professional networks, and where the family, the child and the young person are co-players through inclusive conversations and network meetings. It is an advantage if you have experience with ICS and network involvement.

We take joint responsibility and help each other succeed. This means you do not have to be an expert in everything, but together we can achieve a lot.

We expect

  • That you are educated as a social worker or social facilitator
  • That you are passionate about the target group and see the importance of inclusion
  • That you want to be part of teams in professional development that welcome your input both socially and professionally.
  • That you see the importance of and can work closely with families’ private and professional networks
  • That you are professionally and writerly strong and can work independently and with others
  • That you regard professionalism, documentation, follow-up, structure and overview as a natural part of your work – and have a focus on case flow
  • That you have an appreciative and mentalizing approach – and at the same time thrive in the role of authority advisor
  • Experience in DUBU is an advantage, but not a requirement
  • That you have a driving license, as there are often meetings outside the house
