I am 7 years old and need security, presence and stable adults around me in order to feel good in my daily life. I thrive best when my days are manageable and predictable.

Repeats and fixed routines give me calm and help me understand what will happen.

I communicate without spoken language and express my needs, feelings and wishes through body language, facial expressions, sounds and actions.

It is important to me that the adults around me are attentive and help read my signals.

When I meet with calm, patience and clarity, I feel safe and more ready to interact.

I spend most of my time at home, where I feel safe.

I enjoy short outdoor trips in quiet surroundings. In particular, trips to the playground close to my home give me joy.

The relationship with the adults around me means a lot for my well-being.

I need stable adults who meet me with calm, clarity and predictability. When I feel safe in the relationship, I become more curious, engaged and able to participate in interaction.

I need adults around me who have an understanding of nonverbal communication and can create calm and structured frameworks so I can thrive and develop.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a respite worker, your task will be to create safe, calm and predictable environments around the boy who has infantil autism and mental retardation UNS, with significantly reduced functioning .

The time together takes place mainly at home, where he thrives best, and in the local area in connection with short, structured outings outdoors. In particular, visits to the playground where he can swing are an activity he enjoys.

The job requires that you can work in a structured and calm manner, and that you have an understanding of nonverbal communication.

Relation and trust are central elements of the task, and it is important that you can be a stable and clear adult who can create security through repetition and fixed routines.

You must be able to support the boy in his daily life and communicate with him with an understanding that he does not necessarily understand spoken language.

It is important that you are attentive to his need for predictability, structure and close adult contact, as well as using alternative ways to create understanding and security.

Experience with children with autism or extensive support needs is an advantage.

We are seeking a respite worker for 18 hours per month , allocated over 3 x 6-hour shifts .

There is a wish for these shifts to preferably take place on weekends, but they can also occur on weekdays on occasion after agreement with the family.

• Part-time: 18 hours per month
