We are looking for you specifically because you are a skilled Social and Health Helper or Social and Health Assistant with both heart and professional skills in place. You will be a co-creator of the best possible framework for a good everyday life for our residents at Special Care Home Skovvang.

Whether you are newly trained or have many years of experience in your bag is not the most important to us. Skovvang is a newly built nursing home that, in architecture, interior design and decoration, challenges the way we previously ran a special care home for people with dementia. The house is built based on research and experience that it should be a home for people who need a special living arrangement and dementia-specific care that ensures them the framework for a good and safe life.

The house contains a total of 125 dwellings – 105 special care dwellings, 20 short-term dwellings for relief and assessment, and a special day center. In addition, there is a supply kitchen and a laundry. We have a large shared garden where residents and their families and friends and all staff enjoy good moments

Please note that the position falls within the 24/7 area. Currently, service is expected to be primarily day shifts.

Your profile

We are looking for a social and health helper or social and health assistant who finds dementia exciting and wants to learn more about it. You must also be aware of your own body language, and how you communicate to your surroundings – it is important when working with people with dementia.

You will be well prepared when you start with us. We have a longer intro program than others because we focus on dementia. Your colleagues are specialized in the topic and are ready to teach. You will thus gain strong competencies in dementia – both theoretically and practically. There will also be teaching in person-centred care, and together with your colleagues you will receive supervision from Skovvang’s psychologist.

About the department

Special Care Home Skovvang is located in the northern part of Aarhus. We have a total of 125 dwellings, of which one is a special day center, 105 are special dwellings, and 20 are short-term dwellings for relief and assessment. All departments have access to our common garden with path systems that allow our residents to go for walks in a safe environment.

You will be offered a place at Skovvang if, due to a dementia condition, you have certain challenges or needs that mean you cannot live at the municipality's other nursing homes. Our staff are specialized in working with residents with a dementia condition, and our nursing home is built dementia-friendly based on research and experience.

Salary and terms of employment

The position is desired to commence February 1, 2027, or earlier if possible.

Salary and terms of employment according to applicable collective agreement and after concrete negotiation with the bargaining professional organization.

The weekly hours are 37, and the hours are predominantly day shifts. Weekend work every 3rd weekend should be expected.
