About us

At Sophielund Nursing Home there are 60 residents with moderate to severe dementia conditions.

The apartments are distributed in 7 smaller houses, each with its own communal kitchen and living room, furnished in an individual style which allows us to shape a personal and homely atmosphere.

We are a skilled multidisciplinary team that works closely together to ensure our residents' well-being and safety. We feel that we are something special at Sophielund, and our dementia expertise is clearly visible when you step through the door. Sophielund is the residents' home and we plan care, attention and activities according to individual needs. This is shown, among other things, by meeting our residents with relationship-building, we look at residents' resources rather than limits and we actively use their life histories to create a sense of identity.

Together we create an everyday life for our residents - around the clock, where everyone is active and more than just spectators, based on individual wishes and needs.

We are looking for?

We are looking for someone who is professionally skilled and finds it natural to spar with colleagues. You are proactive and inquisitive and your professional competence is clearly visible when you interact with the residents.

It is not a must that you have many years of experience. You may be newly trained, as we adapt your introduction and competency program.

You must be open to working on yourself, and it is important that you are able to both give and receive constructive feedback in an appreciative manner. You are aware that it is us health professionals who are responsible for the social-psychological environment around our residents. You are good at reading residents' body language and you take pride in meeting residents with trust-building communication.

We want all shifts to be flexible in terms of working where the residents have the most need for us, so you must be willing to be flexible and able to see new possibilities in the future.

Sophielund – Your new workplace

We have attractive vacant positions as SSA in one of our 7 houses.

Day shift 30-37 hours/week with a weekend shift every third weekend, or work every 2nd and every 4th weekend

Evening shift 28-37 hours/week with a weekend shift every other weekend

At Sophielund Nursing Home there are residents with moderate to severe dementia. We have 60 flats distributed in 7 smaller houses, each with its own communal kitchen and living room designed in an individual style, which allows us to form a personal and homely atmosphere. We have a large skilled multidisciplinary team consisting of social and health care helpers, social and health care assistants, patient care assistants, a physiotherapist, and nurses.

Our vision is that it should be clear that we are something special at Sophielund and that our dementia expertise is visible when you enter the door. We demonstrate this, among other things, by meeting our residents with relationship-building and we see residents' resources rather than limitations. Together we create an everyday life for our residents - around the clock, where everyone is active and more than just spectators, based on individual wishes and needs.

What are your tasks?

In each of our houses we have a social and health care assistant employed for day shift, who is responsible for identifying, assessing, acting on, and evaluating the SSA tasks in the house. You participate, together with your colleagues, in today's triage and then you ensure the distribution of the day's tasks in the house.

In the evening shift you have the SSA day shift responsibility for SSA tasks

You participate in care and other practical tasks.

You will, together with your colleagues in the house, be responsible for adapting the care and assistance needs of the group of 8 residents. We use a key person system, where you will share responsibility for updating daily plans, ensuring practical tasks are completed and maintaining contact with relatives.

You have close collaboration with your SSA colleagues in the other houses, where you cover each other’s houses during absence and on weekends. In addition, you have close collaboration with our nurse regarding complex issues, and you help identify issues that are brought to rounds with our house doctor who comes every week.
