Social and health care assistant for teaching and professional development at Birkebo

Are you strong in Cura, and good at making professional knowledge understandable and applicable for others? Do you also want to try your hand at teaching, coordination and development of practice?

At Birkebo we are seeking a social- and health care assistant for a permanent position, where the first six months are in a project assignment. Your main task will be to teach and support your colleagues in the use of Cura and in safe medication handling. You will also help develop workflows and translate them into a practice that makes sense in employees' everyday lives.

The position is, in principle, full-time.

You make professional knowledge applicable

You will plan and carry out practice-oriented teaching for employees with different professional prerequisites. The teaching can take place in small groups and should connect theoretical review with concrete examples, dialogue and exercises.

An important part of the task will be to follow the teaching all the way into everyday work. You must be available for questions, support employees in concrete situations and help to retain new workflows.

Your tasks will include

• plan and conduct teaching in Cura
• teach correct and safe medication handling
• provide individual guidance and support to employees
• translate guidelines and workflows into concrete practice
• contribute to developing clear and usable workflows
• follow up on the teaching and ensure that new knowledge is used
• work closely with management and employees on professional development.

We are looking for someone who

• is educated as a social- and health care assistant
• has documented experience teaching Cura
• has documented experience teaching medication handling
• has a strong healthcare professional foundation
• can convey professional material clearly, concretely and engagingly
• can adapt your teaching to different needs and prerequisites
• works independently, structured and persistent
• is good at building trust and getting colleagues on board with changes
• has an eye for how workflows can become tangible and usable in practice.

Freedom to shape the task

You will have great freedom to plan the teaching and development work within the project's goals. We expect you to take initiative, follow up and also help find the methods that work best at Birkebo.

A large and modern nursing home

Birkebo is located in Kærby near Aalborg's city centre. The nursing home was built in 2004 and expanded in 2017 and has room for 100 residents spread over five housing units. Part of the nursing home is designed for people with dementia, and here ten residents live in a smaller and more manageable unit.

We have new management and are working to create a culture characterized by high professionalism, safety, learning and collaboration. As a project employee you will have the opportunity to contribute concretely to this development and make a visible difference for both staff and residents.

Practical information

This is a fixed position. The project assignment is currently limited to 6 months.

The position is, in principle, 37 hours per week.

You will be employed as a social- and health care assistant under the applicable collective agreement.

Salary and employment terms

According to the applicable collective agreement for social- and health care personnel (73.01) concluded between KL and FOA.
