About the job
Social and Health Care Assistant sought for Holmelunden
30–37 hours per week or as agreed · Start as soon as possible
Are you keen to use your health professional skills in a job where relationships, rehabilitation and quality of life go hand in hand? And are you motivated by making a difference for people with different needs, where professionalism, presence and collaboration are essential?
Then you may be the one we are looking for as a social and health care assistant at Holmelunden.
About Holmelunden
Holmelunden is a residential facility in Ringkøbing-Skjern Municipality for adults with developmental disabilities and other physical and mental functional impairments. We have 38 dwellings spread across three teams and nearly 40 staff members.
Residents range in age from young adults to the elderly, and their needs and life wishes vary. Our task is to support each individual in living as independently, meaningfully and well as possible – based on their own wishes, resources and life situation.
Holmelunden is part of a politically governed organization. This means that we work within applicable laws, municipal strategies and local decisions. We therefore expect you to be able to navigate professionally and loyally within the framework that directs our work.
Your everyday life with us
As a rule you will be attached to one team, but there may be shifts in the other house teams in connection with the duty rosters.
The work takes place in day, evening and weekend shifts. We currently work every other weekend. Holmelunden has awake night shifts, so you do not join the night shift function.
Everyday life is varied and based on the residents' individual needs. Among other things you will support the residents in personal routines, morning structure and personal hygiene. Some residents are at home during the day and need support for practical tasks, social activities or structured companionship. Others need support to create overview, find calm and participate in everyday activities.
Your tasks will also include health-based interventions such as medication administration and observation of residents' health, as well as collaboration with relatives and relevant partners.
We work with goals and sub-goals and document our efforts in the electronic journal system Nexus. We prioritise documentation that makes sense in practice, supports professional reflection and helps us monitor residents' well-being and development.
Our professional approach
At Holmelunden we work with recovery-oriented rehabilitation. The residents' own hopes, wishes and dreams are central, and we work purposefully to support their opportunities for influence, participation and as much independence as possible.
We have KRAP as part of our professional foundation and are in the process of implementing LA2. Some residents have psychiatric diagnoses and require special structure, predictability and professional support in complex situations.
We emphasise that professionalism is not only about methods and documentation, but also about our ability to be curious, reflect on our own practice and find solutions together.
Our shared values are orderliness, curiosity and action . They should be felt in our meetings with residents, in our collaboration with relatives and in our relations with each other.
A workplace with room for professional development
You will become part of a multidisciplinary work community where we prioritise professional sparring, knowledge sharing and joint reflection. We believe the best solutions are created when we use each other’s competencies and are open to different perspectives.
Employees are an important part of developing both professional practice and daily life at Holmelunden. Therefore we place emphasis on you actively contributing with your observations, ideas and professional assessments.
We continually work to develop our culture and strengthen a shared professional stance. There should be room for questions, curiosity, humor and constructive dialogue – even when we do not have all the answers in advance.
We ensure a good start
As a new employee you receive a structured introduction with a mentor assigned and planned follow-up conversations in the first months.
The introduction is based on an induction plan, which among other things includes your tasks, professional methods, documentation, working environment, safety and organizational framework. You will be introduced to Nexus and have the opportunity to build a solid knowledge of the residents, colleagues and daily life at Holmelunden.
As a social and health care assistant you will also be part of the house's cross-cutting assistant group. Here we meet to share knowledge, discuss professional issues and support a consistent and qualified solution of the health-related tasks across teams.
We prioritise professional upskilling and offer as far as possible relevant courses and internal professional development. Depending on your interests and competences there may also be opportunities to take on special professional roles or areas of responsibility.
We are looking for you who
- Are educated as a social and health care assistant and want to bring your health professionalism into play in a pedagogical everyday life.
- Meet residents with respect, presence and an affirmative approach.
- Can create structure and security while adapting your support to each resident's needs and daily form.
- Take responsibility for health-related tasks, including medication administration, observations and relevant follow-up.
- Can document and reflect on your own practice and see documentation as an important part of the professional effort.
- Want to collaborate across disciplines, share your knowledge and contribute to the collective professional development.
- Are flexible, stable and contribute positively to cooperation and the working environment.
- Can work professionally with relatives and other partners.
