Do you want to be involved from day 1?

On January 1, 2027, a new resident will move into Lyngdal. He is a young man, and he will live in house number 15. There are not yet any fixed routines, no familiar walks, and no everyday life to lean on. We will build that together, and we hope you want to join us.

Brief about Lyngdal

Lyngdal is a home for 24 adults with autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disability, and from January 1 we will be 25. A common thread among our residents is that they thrive best with a predictable, structured and active daily life.

We are also a workplace for about 165 employees who collaborate across, laugh a lot and love doing things thoroughly.

Lyngdal is a highly specialized §104 and §108 comprehensive offer with 1:1 staffing as standard. We live in green surroundings by Rude Forest in Birkerød, so we go for walks, cycle and go on excursions in both sunshine and rain.

More about the specialized task

We are looking for professionally solid staff who want to get to know a new person. You need to figure out what creates calm, what brings joy, and what a good day looks like for our new resident. It requires patience, curiosity and professionalism, and it is one of the most meaningful kinds of work you can do.

You will become part of a new, permanent team, where you shape everyday life around the resident's needs, well-being and development together. We start with a 2:1 staffing norm, i.e., two staff around the resident. So there is time to be present, to deepen your professional knowledge and to get to know each other well.

There is a joint start-up for 14 days before the resident moves in, i.e., from 1–14 January 2027. The start-up consists of site visits to the place where the resident currently lives, training and furnishing of the apartment and staff facilities.

About you

• You are educated as a social educator, pedagogical assistant or social- and health-care assistant
• You are professionally engaged and eager to learn - experience from the special needs field is a plus, but not a requirement
• You can create structure and predictability while also seeing the person in front of you
• You are comfortable helping with personal care when needed
• You are active and happy to join walks, bike rides and excursions
• You have a driving license and are happy to use it

It is important to us that you are curious about your profession and the people around you, and that you want to build something new together with your colleagues.

You don’t need to know it all from day one

None of us know our new resident in advance, so we learn together. You will receive training and support from your colleagues in the team and supervision, courses and our own education in special pedagogy.

During the first two weeks of January 2027, we will together find the schedule that works best for everyone. In the team, we will discuss how shifts are distributed over the 24 hours and how long they should be. The goal is to find a solution that takes into account both our shared task and each other’s needs.

At Lyngdal we work systematically with low arousal, neuro-pedagogy and sensory integration, so you can expect a daily life where we nerd out on our profession, help each other and take joint responsibility.

Salary and employment terms

The positions are on average 37 hours per week. Salary and employment terms are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement entered into between the Capital Region's Wages and Salary Board and Social Educators or FOA.

We will obtain references as well as an extended criminal record check if employment is contemplated.
