Your role

As a social educator with us you will be part of a professionally strong and passionate team where we work together to give placed children and young people the best conditions for wellbeing and development. The task requires presence, calm and warmth – you must be able to offer structure, predictability and meaningful activities that support the children in their daily lives.

We expect you to take responsibility and support the children – both when life is going well and when it is difficult. This means that you should be able to use yourself professionally in the relationships and be able to communicate clearly with care and authenticity, so the children can safely mirror themselves in you and grow, even when the waves can be high at times.

Our everyday life

You will help create a homely environment characterized by warmth, structure and familiar frameworks. Together we plan activities that give meaning and support the children’s social and personal development. We work from a shared professional foundation, where recognition, inclusion, mentalization and a resource-focused approach form the basis of our pedagogical practice.

Your professional skills are put to use both in daily interactions with the children and in collaboration with colleagues and external partners, for example at staff meetings, treatment conferences and in status work. In this way we ensure continuous reflection and adjustment of our efforts so that each child gets the support they need.

The working hours are planned in a 6-week cycle with rotating day, evening, weekend and overnight shifts. The overnight shifts include overnight stays on the department, and you naturally participate in the children’s big events such as holidays, birthdays or a joint ski trip.

About us

The Child and Youth Center Vejle Fjord is a residential social pedagogical facility for children and young people aged 4–17 with socio-emotional challenges and/or brain-organic difficulties, such as ADHD or ADD.

We operate seven 24-hour departments in Brejning and Bredballe with space for a total of 37 children and young people. Most children attend our internal school, Solvejskolen, in Bredballe.

In addition we offer both supported/supervised visits in our social house and outpatient family treatment. The Child and Youth Center Vejle Fjord is an autonomous institution under KFUM’s Social Work and is operated in collaboration with Vejle Municipality.

We are currently seeking social educators for our department in Brejning

On the department there are four children. The address is Brejning Østergade 18, 7080 Børkop.

Employment terms

Salary and employment terms are according to agreement with SL.

Information about starting salary

Employment takes place according to 64.01 Agreement for social educators and pedagogical staff at residential institutions, etc., § 4 The expected starting salary per month for full-time and excluding pension is 33,035 DKK and falls within the range 33,035 DKK – 37,620 DKK. It should be noted that final classification, including collective agreement basis and salary level, is set based on your education and qualifications and the specific offered position.
