As an assistant at Skovvang, your primary task will be to create safe surroundings for our residents through a person-centered, empathetic and listening approach. Building trustful relationships is decisive for whether we succeed in creating a meaningful everyday life, where the individual resident feels recognised, respected and valued.
At Skovvang we base our care on person-centered care, which means that the individual resident's life story, preferences and special needs are at the center.
You will become part of an interdisciplinary staff group with the common trait that we love working with people with dementia. We base our care on person-centered care in everything we do, which means we always see the person before the disease, and plan the care and support according to the individual's needs.
Understanding the importance of relationship before task is an important part of the job as a social- and health care assistant at Skovvang, primarily in relation to our residents, but also to their relatives.
At Skovvang you have ample opportunities to develop yourself as an assistant. We have regular mono-disciplinary meetings, where for example wound care and IV treatment are taught by both internal and external instructors. In addition, we hold interdisciplinary meetings with the house's nurses, focusing on the many interventions we work on together, e.g. palliative pathways, the care model or person-centered care.
We have large professional ambitions for Skovvang and are very much looking forward to welcoming new, engaged employees who want to be part of a specialized care home with high professionalism and a strong focus on creating high well-being and safe surroundings for our residents and their relatives.

About the department
In the Short-Term Placements we have room for 20 residents in respite or assessment pathways. We are located on the ground floor and have direct access to the garden, where we follow the changing seasons.
The Short-Term Placements work to make the transition from home or hospital as gentle as possible by focusing on creating homeliness and especially on meals. We work to create small environments or one-to-one with the staff to create calm and clarity for the individual. We also focus on how the residents take initiative and have motivation that can be used in daily life and in relation to ensuring the residents' daily life and well-being. The short-term department strives for the relationship to allow setting demands and expectations for the individual to achieve, e.g. clothing changes and bathing.
