Our work community In House 26 there live 10 residents aged 25 to 66. The pedagogical support is very individualized, tailored to the individual’s needs for care and support and with a focus on the resident’s well-being and possibilities for development. 2 of the residents use wheelchairs. In our work we base our approach on the neuro-pedagogical framework, the zone of proximal development and have initiated the implementation of LA2U.

We work to ensure the residents’ right to live a good life with co-determination, involvement, democracy, safety and well-being. We have a daily routine where we make room for different types of activities, such as baking, outdoor activities and cooking. Additionally we have chickens, a cat and aquarium fish, which we support the residents in taking care of.

We are fond of traditions both new and old. And in our work we focus on the residents’ attachment to the deaf environment and culture.

We work based on a 12-week core schedule with alternating working hours; here there is a fixed weekly evening shift and work every second weekend.

Tegnsprog is our common language Sign language is the residents’ mother tongue and our common language. It is therefore a clear advantage if you can sign or have experience with visual communication. It is not a prerequisite, however. But if you cannot it beforehand, you must be prepared to learn it at CFD’s internal sign language training.
