Social pedagogue for 24/7 residential facility – Søborg

We are looking for a new colleague who will use their professional expertise to be co-creating and to ensure safe and trusting frameworks for the people who live in House 28, who have a solid professional foundation, and who wish to work within a complex and highly specialized social-pedagogical field.

House 28 is one of five houses under the Housing at Oktobervej and part of CFD's social offerings , which target adults who are deaf, have deafblindness, or have significant hearing loss and need special support. In House 28 there are 10 residents in their own apartments, located in connection with homey and cozy common areas and wonderful outdoor facilities that appeal to the senses.

The pedagogical support is highly individual. It is adapted to each person’s needs based on the resident’s well-being and possibility for development. In our work, we base ourselves on the neuro-pedagogical framework, the zone of proximal development, and we are in the process of launching the implementation of LAU2.

We work to safeguard residents’ right to live a good life with co-determination, inclusion, democracy, safety and well-being. We have a daily routine where we make room for different types of activities, such as baking, outdoor activities and cooking.

We are fond of traditions, both new and old, and we focus on residents’ connection to the Deaf community and culture.

We have a long history in working with people who are deaf and have deafblindness, and we have a special responsibility to protect sign language. We are also Denmark's largest workplace for deaf people.

Sign language is what makes CFD unique, and therefore it is a natural part of our everyday life. You must be ready to learn sign language, for example through CFD’s internal sign language training , if you do not already know it. Respect and understanding for the culture among people who are deaf or have deafblindness is central to CFD’s work.

What we expect from you? You

• are educated as a social educator, preferably with experience in the specialized social-pedagogical field
• can take ownership of our shared professional direction
• have strong mentalization skills
• have knowledge of or interest in neuro-pedagogy and development-supportive approaches
• can work independently and in a structured way, but also value close and trusting collaboration with colleagues
• are curious, flexible and aware of your own professional role in a complex everyday life
• are open and engaged regarding communicating in sign language and are eager to learn it if you cannot yet
• have good written skills.

More information and the recruitment process The position is 37 hours per week. We work from a 12-week rotating schedule with varying hours, including both day shifts and a fixed weekly evening, as well as every other weekend.
