About the Family Café

We are looking for a skilled colleague for a 20-hour position in Kirkens Korshærs family services in Nykøbing Falster.

The family services offer meaningful social communities and activities for families, regardless of background, ethnicity or faith.

With our values of 'presence, care and respect' in mind and through solid social-work and pedagogical practice, we help families find positive communities. Families receive help and support to handle any problems, and we support bridge-building to additional help where needed.

Our focus is to create good, calm and safe environments for the families, enabling them to be open to support to master parenthood, financial challenges and the demands and expectations they are often faced with.

Additionally, the children can receive support with homework reading and initiation of any leisure activities.

About the job

Your core tasks are a broad range of social-work and pedagogical interventions, conversations and bridging. You will also help with a wide range of practical tasks related to the daily operation of the house, including cleaning and cooking, among other things. You will have close collaboration with your manager, your colleagues and our skilled volunteer colleagues.

Your tasks will be to

• Highlight the value of communities and the importance of each individual's role in the community
• Be proactive and exploratory regarding the families' challenges and offer your professional support in their development
• Act and behave according to our values and basic view of humanity – 'that all people are of equal worth'
• Plan and facilitate communal meals, meaningful conversations, outings away from home and many other activities

About you

You have a relevant professional background and preferably experience with the target group. You master alternating between relationship work and talking with adults and children in a changing everyday life and you are good at initiating activities and maintaining an overview, even when there are many balls in the air. We envision that you:

• Have a relevant social-work or pedagogical education
• Appreciate that everyday life includes both practical tasks and care- and relationship-building among the families
• Can engage in strong collaborations with colleagues, where together you can create the best framework for the users
• Is inclusive, flexible and shows respect and understanding for the target group
• Has a positive outlook and is open to professional supervision and sparring
