Who are we?

In the Department of Children and Family we are about 115 employees. We consist of two district teams, which handle case processing for the age group 0-13 years, a youth team covering the age group 14-18 years plus youth support, and a disability team regarding children and young people with impaired function. In each team there is a team leader and a professional coordinator who ensure close professional and staff support and leadership.

In addition to advisory authorities, each team also includes a number of prevention advisers, who contribute to early and preventive efforts and an intensified collaboration with our general area. We also have a foster care team.

You will as an advisor handle both lighter and more complex cases.

Youth Team consists of 20 social workers, three student assistants, an intern, a professional coordinator and a team leader. We handle case processing for youths from 14 years and up. We have close cooperation with our Youth Unit (KUI), the crime prevention unit (SSP), Børnehus Sjælland, Familieretshuset, Ungdomskriminalitetsnævnet etc.

Your qualifications

• Educated social worker or social mediator and preferably with experience from the specialized children and youth area
• Resource- and relationship-oriented
• Desire to join a learning- and development-oriented organization, where your professionalism and experience are brought into play
• Have a systematic and structured approach to the administrative tasks and legal duties
• Contributes to an appreciative culture, where we all take responsibility for a good working environment
• Have a driving license, as Slagelse Municipality covers a large area geographically. The municipality provides cars

Mentor scheme

We offer good onboarding with a fixed introductory plan, mentor scheme, ongoing training, good support, guidance and follow-up in the start-up phase.

Where does Department of Children and Family reside

Department of Children and Family is located in Slagelse within walking distance of the station. Many commute, and if you come by train, it takes under 1 hour from Copenhagen H and about half an hour from Odense.

Positions are 37 hours/week.

Salary and terms of employment

In accordance with applicable collective agreement and the principles of New Pay. Basic salary is placed according to experience. Basic salary positioning will take place at either base salary 32 corresponding to 33,796 DKK ex. pension or base salary step 35 corresponding to 35,741 DKK ex. pension. In addition there is possibility for negotiating experience allowance.
